I need a good power door lock actuator for an 88 TC. Passenger side ut i think they are the same.

I have a couple doors I couldnt give away and I think they have everything in them, do you know of a way to test them? If so I can grab one before they go to s and if its good its yours
I am not sure how to test them, but I will take both of them. You know how much you want?
I am sure 1 is there and quite possibly 2, send me your address and if I get back from my in-laws early enough I will get them out so I can ship them out Monday. I think there is a flat rate box at the P/O that runs like 5 bucks or so which I think they will fit in.

Phill, sorry didnt get your address till this afternoon. Turns out I only had one, but its out and I will get it on its way tomorrow. I dont feel right charging you for it for 2 reasons, 1st I dont know if it is any better than what you have and 2nd, its in a door I was going to s(once I finally convince myself to trash perfectly good parts) so just when it gets to you look on the box and cover the postage and that will be fine with me.

The actuators can be tested easily once they are out of the door and the plug has been removed. There are two pr0ngs sticking out from the bottom. Apply 12v and the actuator should activate. Try both polarities to be sure. When I tested mine, I just took a piece of wire and jammed it into the negative battery terminal, put one of the actuator pr0ngs against the positive battery post and then touched the negative wire to the other pr0ng. Flip the actuator around and repeat to test the other direction/polarity. The CoolCats site has info on removing the actuators without drilling out the rivet that holds the bracket. To summarize, reach into the door, pull the actuator toward the front of the door while pushing downward and the rubber bushing should pop out of the bracket. After that, twist the actuator toward the outside face of the door and pull down again. It should pop free with a little wiggling. Sometimes the rear bushing likes to stay in the bracket or fall into the door cavity, so make sure you have it. (I just replaced both of mine last week.)Good luck!
