so lable me ingnorant BUT....... my car is an 86 thunderbird elan. i had never heard a elan.  what is the difference? thanks guys.

The Heritage was made for 1983, and then changed to Elan for 84-86. It was generally a higher optioned more luxurious trim level than base cars.

The Elan models were focused on luxury, whereas the Turbo Coupes were for performance. You probably have power seats, power windows, premium sound, and all sorts of other goodies, no?

My '84 Bird was an Elan 5.0 with digital dash and side lights. It could be best described as a Thunderbird with a touch of Lincoln style to it.

Mine is an Elan.It has every option except a sunroof
