Title: I am just confused on the front brakes
Post by: blain_gatterdam on August 21, 2011, 08:56:53 PM
Due to an overwhelming amount of info on this site, I am confused about the front brakes. I am set on the 94-95 spindles to keep the width where it is at. I would like to use large 99-up brakes however. I thought about cobra brakes, but thats too much moolah for a casual sunday driver. Even for show, my cobras wont really reveal enough to justify the cost. I understand there is a way to adapt 99-up to the 95 spindles by grinding something? I'd like to have set in my head what I want so I can just buy with confidence.

From my limited research i think you just need to trim/grind the 'ears' that the calipers bolt too.

You get the '99 V6/V8 Calipers (they're the same, regardless of engine, and 2 brackets for the same. The brackets have the same part number for either side. Bolt it on the '94-'95 spindle. No worries.

It's how I'm going to go when I get the funds for it.

Best part: Oreilly's and AutoZone have both the calipers and the brackets...probably have to order them in, but they do list them.
I have the part #'s if you want...
