Title: Battery Tray
Post by: dragon574444 on August 15, 2011, 06:37:33 PM
I need a battery tray for my 84 Thunderbird. The original broke. It looks like it was some sort of fiber glass, it wasn't metal. My dad rested his hand on it and snap. It belongs on the passenger side on the early cars. I can take a picture if it'll help.

Thanks

I don't know if there's a difference but I have one from an 87 sport and one from an 88 tc.

Weren't those mounted on the driver's side? Do you think you could take a pic of the battery tray for me?

You're right it's on the driver's side but I wasn't sure if you could switch sides or not. I have a pic of the sport tray in my sale ad, it on page 2. I can get pics and post it of the tc one later.

That battery tray looks a little different. Mine is a perfect rectangle, it sits flush with the fender. That one looks more like the one on my friend's '90 Mustang; I remember how it has that deep indent. It would probably get the job done, assuming the bolt holes line up...

If you could post a pic of the TC one, maybe it'll be a better fit. Thanks

I was able to get the pics for you this morning but I ran out of time to post them. This is the TC battery tray I haven't compared them but I think they look the same. If you don't think you can make either work Steve says he can get you one.

Close, but not what mine looks like. Mine doesn't have that large indent...

Steve? :D

I'll head out to the yard tomorrow and see if its still there. I know its a PS tray but I think its the same thing Jay's got up there. If it is I'll let him sell it to ya.

I'd say there's a big difference between the two.

I think it's the one out of my TC but I found one for you. :hick:

Looks like the TBird and Mustang share battery trays which means it shouldn't be hard to find more...
