You're in St. Pete? Awesome-I'm in New Tampa. We'll have to meet up one day.
cool want to trade tires and rims :D
Hahaha..the ONLY good thing about my car is the exterior. The interior's pretty clean too...but the car is SO SLOW. Hopefully I'll have some funds in about a year or so, but we'll see. College first. The rims are cheap man-I think I paid 200-250 for all 4. Post some pics, btw!
I got some rims if you're looking for mustang type 10 holes...
Good to see more FL ppls
oh btw I could mail you down my spare Cougar manual if you just want to read up on your car. They have basically the same info.

There are no pdfs of the owner's manaul for these cars because pdfs didn't exist when these cars were built ;).
HELM has them for $19.

There's no pics in that post :disappoin
There are a lot of things to look out for. First and foremost the alternator. These 2g Alts cause a lot of the electrical problems these cars have, I believe there is a topic dedicated to switching it to a 3g on here. Second, is one I recently experienced myself, the cam. The cam in these cars factory were trash.

Get the 1.1 cam from that kit, also, pick up the Roller followers, new or used, doesn't matter. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE TO BUY 2.3 CAMS THAT ARE WORTH A . If you're keeping the car mostly stock then you can go with the used ones no problem. Ditch the ABS if the light comes on. Go with the breaking system out of the mustangs of that era or you will pay out the nose. Upgrade the fuel pump to a Walbro 255lph in tank or inline, doesn't matter. Make sure the intake hose coming from the VAM to the turbo has a spring in it, if it doesn't it will collapse under high boost and not only make your car run like but also make it suck up a bit of oil through the valve cover evac. The valve cover is known to leak oil from the passenger side firewall corner, rubber gasket solves this. Get an after market boost gauge and a Manual boost controller. Take immaculate care of the small things in the car, such as the dash, the front ground effects, the intercooler shroud, hood, brake calipers, head lights and valve cover as these are ALL 87 and 88 Turbo coupe exclusive, and these cars are getting harder and harder to find with every turbo ranger creation and 200 bucks at the s yard. You can swap out for a SVO VAM and get rid of the TC VAM (which sucks, btw, but not in that good "yes give me more air to my engine" kind of way) and throw a cold air intake on the front of it. Well, sorry for the long winded post, we can swap tidbits we pick up if you want, pm me.
