Ive looked around and cant find the answer that i need. I am putting my doors back on and was looking at the striker and was wondering if it has the plastic bushings like the mustang and earlier birds I have a 87 bird and the door looks like it could close a little more and the plastic bushing might do it?
Thanks Steve
I bought new ones at rock auto... the plastic on mine were about to bite it... they wont close all the way if the plastic is missing...
you did mean the post in the door jamb, right?
Yes the post in the door jam that the latch hooks onto. Thanks Ill get some. Mine are completely missing
I JUST got some of those at the boneyard a few weeks ago. I'll grab more when I go Wednesday. I got mine from Lincolns.
FWIW, they're common to a lot of ford cars and even trucks...
I got some from a 87 mustang when I get my car back Ill see if they fit
Depends on the year of stang. I had some from a early 80's Stang and the bolt thread was different and wouldnt thread into the door frame. I just got some from the "help" section at the autoparts store. (the whole thing, not just the bushing)
They sell them in the "help" section in the auto parts stores, mine are jamb up!!!!! was that even funny.......?
Also, you can still buy them at Ford for about $10 a piece
