87 5.0 floor shift car. i have mac unequal length headers are they gonna bolt right up to a pipes o/r x pipe and not have to mess with the firewall or motor mounts or anything?
They should be a bolt on. No additional work at all. Get new exhaust gaskets and get busy.
You will have to watch where the dip stick tube bolts to the header . You need to use header bolts, and, grind the dip stick tube mount down a little to clear the header tube. You'll see what I mean when you install the driver side header.
....are they gonna bolt right up to a pipes o/r x pipe.... ???
What all Vinnie said. But to clarify, they won't bolt to factory cat Y-pipe, s are different. Need after-market H or X (cat or non-cat) pipe for the correct .
When he said "Pipes", I think he has what I have, a "Pypes" brand O/R X-Pipe.
Yea Vinnie, I read that over and over and never saw the "Pypes" vs pipes thing. So like you said, if he has that it should work. I guess I answered too fast. Need to shift back into "lurker" mode.
Oh man, put the MAC units up for sale on Ebay and get a different brand that have all of the primary tubes tied together in a single exhaust at the head. Go here to see what I mean:
