Well I'm new to this forum. Since I was 13 years old I saw the Turbo Coupe and have been in love with them since. I picked one up a couple of months ago. Just got Stinger 3" dual exhaust for it. It's pushing 18psi with Gillis boost valve and a K&N. Getting ready to buy some Weld draglites with 295/50/15, but not sure if they will stuff under the wheel wells.
Welcome home!
Nice bird, welcome!!
looks like a great example!
Welcome. That thing is shagy and clean!! What wheels are those?
Welcome!
I'd keep those wheels on it man!
Welcome aboard. What part of Texas are you from? Great looking car by the way.
Beautiful Turbo Coupe and welcome!!
I'll agree with the others in saying the car looks good with those basket weave type wheels. Otherwise, one member that successfully stuffed 295/50/15s under their fenders (cougar) was Blown306cougar. Check his old posts. He did use a mustang rear but otherwise he said the fenderwells would accomodate bigger tires than say a mustang. Oh, and welcome.
Those wheels look like the BBS ones found on the Special ed. LSC's. I would love a set. Nice looking bird and welcome!
Welcome .. I like the wheels you have already
Those are american racing wheels(ARE - american racing equipment). I had a set at one point. Good looking car!
Thanks everyone for the comments! San Antonio and the wheels that were on there are Enkei 92's. It now has Weld Draglites 295/50/15 in the rear and fit perfect! No hammer needed! I like the new look.:tbirdbang:
Oh those are shagy in chrome esp on a black car:cool:
Welcome, and clean car. Personally I like the Enkei wheels better. Draglites have never done anything for me. Even as a drag wheel they are not my style.
Nice looking car. I love the basket weave wheels. Always wanted a set. Nice looking car. Is it your first car?
Welcome to the site! Nice looking car. I like both sets of wheels on it. I also like the ground fx! I'd like to find a set for mine some day.
Again, great looking car. I wish some of you guys were closer. San Antonio is a long way. I remember basic training there.
Thanks and this is my first T bird. This is my other toy.
Nice :) I don't do offroad with my 4x4 but I still like offroad oriented things. As for my 4x4, I lowered it 3" and put it on some chrome lol..
Now that's a serious toy!
Congrats on your purchase. While I was reading the post about the wheels, I thought that they were Enkei 92s. BTW, Discount Tire online has these available in 15" size but I do not know if they are just in 5 lug.
Nice Bird, and nice XJ. I've had three and a half XJ's and loved them (well, maybe I didn't love the first, an '87 4-cyl auto..., and the "half" was a parts Wagoneer).
Here's a pic of the last one:
It's a '96 2-door, 4.0, 5-speed, with junkyard lift, 3.55 gears, Dana 44, 30X9.5's, and Wagoneer front clip. I did a LOT of work to this rig, including replacing the entire floor, swapping front & rear axles out of that parts Wagoneer, and adding all the fancy options the Wagoneer had but the Cherokee didn't (power windows, locks, seats, air, 242 transfer case, etc). I sold it because I needed a pickup truck, now I wish I had my XJ back...
are those dodge wheels on your jeep? they don't look stock but then again I don't know much about jeeps...
Mine, or Bowcephus's? Mine had Centerline 15X8's on it. Bowcephus's look to be from a Wrangler Rubicon or maybe a newer (2000-ish) XJ
Yeah I was talking about Bowcephus' rims they look like Durango wheels to me. Looks interesting on that body. I like it.
Dodge and Jeep are like Ford and Mercury. :P That's a beautiful TC, I wish mine was as straight as that when I purchased it. Grats on getting the dream. :)
