Some time ago, i said about a thunderbird -No Turbocoupe- that has the 4 speed manual transmission with a V6. I cant take photos of the particular car, but here in a mexican auction page there are a car. Heres the link....

Maybe you can not see very well the sitck easily, but check the description. If you need some info about this car, i can help with a translation...

Looks like you guys definatly got some things that wasn't available in the States...
So how many of these stick shift Birds/Cougs have you seen???
T-Birds, 7 of every 10 are manual, with v6 and V8. There are turbo birds, but they are rare. I was thinking with the 2.3 four non turbo is a posibility, but im not sure. Cougars, mmm, i guess i have never seen one manual (i saw one listed at the diary in my town, but no proof of that), all are automatic. The XR7 version for Fox cougar was no avaible until 1989. I saw an XR7 turbo one time, but was north american.
Maybe if i can get more info, the issue of the T-5 behind a 3.8 can be solved...

Isn't the A4ld behind the 3.8 the same as the ine they put in the 5.0? Also you would need the flywheel and clutch. Also I know that the 2.9 bolts up to the a4ld and maybe the flywheel and clutch would work. Dont for get the pilot bearing. maybe they made a 3.8 stick stang?
The 3.8 does not use an A4LD, it uses an AOD or a C5. Only 4-cyl models had the A4LD (and 60-degree V6's, of which none were ever installed in T-Birds/Cougars).
They did make a 3.8 stick Stang but it apparently has a deeper bellhousing that would put the shifter too far back, and the flywheel will not work with a 5.0 T5 bellhousing (this is based on what I read in the "3.8 5-speed swap" thread a long time ago, don't know if anyone ever came up with a solution)
Mexcougar, that shifter (what I can see of it) does not look like a factory piece - even the boot looks like something from a different car. Note how it does not match with the console at all
Yes, the shifter and console on all the T-birds i have seen looks bad, like it was a cheap swap, but trust me, the vast majority is like that car. The other T-bird in my way to the school is even the same color and its manual. I will take some photos if i can get a camera....
