so my front tires were fine, but were a little dry rotted.(pretty skinny for $140 lol) I ordered a set of maxxis marauders in a 295/50/15 but they are on back order for 8 weeks but only 4 weeks left!!! I was goung to get a drag radial but 1. they cost 50-75% more. 2. I have a spool and I sometimes get caught in the rain. 3. these have a really cool tread. lol
one more full frontal :D
Nice. Aggressive tread design, too. How wide are they? I like some width at all 4 corners.
the fronts are 165/80/15 the rear are 275/50/15 now, but I ordered 295/50/15 but with the suspension I have it still handles quite well. still waiting on the rears may 5th they should ship out.
I gotta get new rear tires as well. I just replaced the fronts (255-40-17). The rears are 275-40-17. I've been a little aggressive with the skinny pedal on the right lately. The poor tires are the ones who suffer.LOL.
nice! what size rims are you running? How does it handle? My bird had 235's on it when I got it and the handling was unless you were on the throttle. Dropped to 205's and it rides like a dream now(except on rough roads, suspension work still needs to be done).
Good question, what size rims do you have. I'm taking a guess and saying 15x10 and 15x5. Just a guess.
nope 15x3.5 15x8.5
I was only an inch and a half off. LOL. Do you have spacers on the rear? I have 17x10's out back, and yours look wider. Maybe it's just me.
no might just be the offset I think its 4.5
It looks great. Aggressive. you've done well.
I hope they fit on my rims the maxxis website calls for a 9.5 rim but the cooper cobras, and the BFG's call for an 8.5 rim. so I guess i will just cross my fingers:punchballs:
man these tires look bad A$$!!!!!!
I run Nexxen tires. They have a unidirectional tread pattern and actually perform quite well. Priced right also.
I run Maxxis tires on my Cougar. Good tire at an even better price. They're one of the last companies that makes an all-season performance tire in a 15 inch size.
I have some on the vert too.. mine are directional though
I run Nexxen N3000's. A directional tire with great grip, and very quiet in the corners!
horrible, horrible, tire when they are cold though.. Grip like glue after about 5- 10 min of driving..

Anybody know if a set of Draglites 295/50/15 off a mustang will fit a 87 T Bird?
I believe Nick had that exact size tire on his car without any issues....
On a sidenote, while pulling the spare out of the trunk on the Mustang last week at the track, I took note that my spare tire was a Maxxis......
I also took note of how light the wheel/tire combo was.....Time to grab a second one and mount them both up front
Those things will fit? The 275/50/15s look like they will rub with a hard launch! It will look badass if they do work.

Looking through the threads I noticed Nick had a Mustang rear in the car. Weld makes the Draglites in 15X10 with a 6.5" backspace and 15X9 with a 5.5" backspace.
I have a 255 60-15 on the stock 10 holes and would rather that size tire be on an 8 inch wide wheel. I would think that a 9 inch would be ideal for 275's.
FWIW, if you're rubbing on a hard launch, there's too much squat and not enough forward momentum....
ok, I couldn't take it!!!!!!!!!!! I just ordered BFG drag radials 275/50/15, I couldn't ever get an answer on when the others would come in so......, but they will help me next march at the tremec true street challenge. can't expect to run too well on a street tire.lol
Just to let ya'll know, 295/50/15 on Weld Draglites that came off a mustang fit and no hammer needed!
so I can finally put my new tires on now I got to do this today:burnout:

Good gawd you did that! i would hate to pull up next to you at a red light, just hearing the sound of that thing would make shivers go down my back!
Also i have a quick question, how bad does the cowl hood block your view of the road?
Not bad at all just be a little careful pulling into the gas pump.LOL

Do you think I could make it to cat jam on these!!!LOL
(http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w92/03grinnie/T-bird/DSC07103.jpg)
Somebody's been using all the power they have. Those tires are well used.
sad thing is they only have 5 to 6,000 miles on them, but I've had them since 2004.lol
So the tires are very close to the top of the wheel well coming up the driveway, so I will have to be very careful....:punchballs:
Sorry for all the pictures, but I think it helps others on picking wheel, and tire size, at least it did for me.lol
