Title: Differences in front Spindles/Hubs?
Post by: cougrrr302 on April 04, 2011, 02:59:12 AM
I've heard rumors that the 94-95 Spindles/Hubs are different than the 96-98, and that the 96-98 are preferred. Can anyone shed some light on this. I'm about to buy a 94-95 setup.

Basically you need to use the 94-95 spindles with a stock K-Member car to keep the bump steer in check.  If you have a tubular K-Member most of these were designed around the 96+ spindles so these will be required when using those K-Members.  The other thing that comes up a lot is the fact that the 96+ spindles will push the wheels out 8mm per side.

I have the 94-95 setup on mine...not roadworthy yet, but I'll make a detailed report when it becomes mobile.

In mocking up the Mark VII wheels I have and "test fitting" a fender on, it puts the edge of the tire just about right.

Here is my 83 with the 96+ spindles on it with 17 X 8 Bullitt replicas with 25 mm offsets.
