Took me over an hour to track down these pics I made awhile back to attempt to better illustrate how to host a pic on the board. I figure, I'm not going through all that again, so I'll make a new thread for it now that I've found it. If it isn't sticky-worthy, I'll just link back to it every time someone asks how to do it.
EDIT: Restored images as of 8/27/06. Remind me next time they vanish, huh? :p (I don't check this thread very often)
I for one think it's a good resource for n00bs.
you oughtta get the file sizes for the pictures and how you edit them and what programs to use and stuff. maybe master blaster will chime in now
I don't understand what you are asking me to do, aside from the programs to use thing. (I use IrfanView and MS Paint to edit most stuff) I listed max file size already.
there should be a reference sub-section in this forum for newbies, and it should also include message board etiquette.
Bumping this because I have to search for it every time someone asks how. :p
this should be a sticky. like.... yesterday.
I thought the max file size was about 145k?
Try it. I don't know if it still is 95k.
I think it's stickyworthy as well, but I also think it'd be better in the "user rides" section, where people post pics of their cars. What do you think?
I think maybe in the dedicated help section, but that's just me. I bumped this because someone in For Sale.. needed it.
I think it should go in the user's ride section. Newbies tend not to look in the help section when needing help. Actually... where is the help section???
lol.
:flame:
Oh.... yeah... THAAAT help section.
anytime ive posted pics,, its file size needed to be at or about 145k. i would open my pic with a ms office pic program i have and adjust the *****SIZE**** only not touching the pixel arrangements at all. Reducing the size and do a file save in .jpg form. go look at the file and make sure the jpg file is smaller than 145k.
OK, maybe it is 145k now.. because originally I remember getting notices when going over 95k. Perhaps from an earlier version of the forum software? The pic I just tried (and removed because it breaks H-scroll) was 106.7k.
Actually it was me that changed the setting, one time when I was trying to upload a pic of about 125k. My digital camera's photos are always in the 100-125 range so I didn't want to have to resize or recompress 'em every time I uploaded something
Say, what happened to the pic that's supposed to help n00bs post pics?
All of the old pics that were uploaded attatchments are gone.
Aww , now I'm gonna have to dig up those pics again since you lost them, Carmen. :p
Oh they're not lost..you can trust me on that.. I spent DAYS backing up the attachments.. for some reason though.. they're not linking properly.
I'm searchin' for 'em now on my main drive.
EDIT: They be fix-ed.
