so here it goes

I bet it'll become common. Nice job.
I think I've seen this one before. Very awesome, (at least) 412 horses of 100% streetable, reliable power in a 3000 pound vehicle. I'll do this swap on my bird one day. Along with a T-56, 93 Cobra brakes, maybe IRS, and a very good insurance policy.
I can dream, can't I?
It's too quiet :disappoin:shakehead:sleep::flip:
that is quiet! very nice, tho!
quiet is good
what transmission did they use?
the engine block pattern is different on these motors.
another page about the Kurhan Coyote swap says they used a T-45

the t-45 a different bell housing patern or what?
Nice, fits under a stock hood.
Not for quite some time.
7K for the motor
1.5K for the electronics
who knows how much else for all the other particulars.
Probably an adapter plate

Geesh it would be cheaper to build a 400+ HP 302 based engine....
Cool!
Yes. MUCH cheaper, but not nearly as cool and remember -- this new 5.0 has tons of potential in stock form.
I'd like to see one of these new motors in a 67-69 Cougar replete with a 6 speed auto and a centrifugal blower sending the power through a built 9 inch.
I've contemplated letting go of my Mustang to fund such an endeavor. Unfortunately, I'm still sans Cougar so the Mustang stays so I have at least ONE toy I can drive. Another 5 or 6 weeks on the Cougar at a minimum.
I Wish someone would give me about $15-20k so I could put one of those new 5-oh's into my car along with the 6M and some forced induction.
Sure it would be cheaper, but it would be a completely different engine with totally different manners. A 400+ HP 302 would not have street manners at all, and is really living on borrowed time.
With the new Coyote, you'd have no less than 412 horsepower that can be daily driven and will last 200K+ miles. Not to mention the untapped potential of the new motor, remember that super charger?

With the technology available in the 90's yes. Using updated parts from today? No.
I don't see why a properly built Windsor can't make power and last plenty long. They can be streetable at the same time too. Hell, mine idles near like a stocker and makes somewhere around 320-340 to the tire through an AOD. If I had to do it again with the same block, I'd have went with the TFS 185's instead of the basic TW's.....I also would have CNC ported them before install.
The Coyote DOES have more potential out of the box though. There is no doubt IMO on that. Looking at flow charts cements that.
What does the Coyote Engine and electronics weigh? I don't want any more weight over the nose of my Coupe than the 302 already has so this would be some good info to have. A stock block 302W with a 331 stroker kit will make 400+ all day long and live for years. Its still a very cool swap project and would I do it if I had the money...maybe. My only hesitation is proven duration on the new Coyote motor. Lets see where it is in an couple of years and by then the salvage yards will be full of them so it will be a more cost affective swap. I don't like reinventing the wheel when it comes to this kind of $$$.
Darren
I agree. I'm pretty sure a properly built 302, 331, or 347 would last at least 100K and produce good power. Like I said it's cheaper to build a 400hp 302 based engine.
Just a matter of time till we start seeing the new 5.0 in about everything(no I'm not necessary happy about the thought)...
BTW Kurgan did the dyno tune on my Marauder...
because none of us poor folks will be able to keep up!!!!
