Title: UD pullies
Post by: ITHURTZ on May 16, 2005, 03:54:42 PM
OK I got the pullies today. I ordered Summit Alum pullies, but got MR. Gasket, and what feels like steel pullies.GR any it says

1979-86 Mustang/Capri #4759 2" shorter belt
1979-93 Fork Truck #4759 2" shorter belt
1987-93 Mustang/ Capri #4759 Stock Belt
1994-95 Mustang #4761 Stock belt

I cant find out what part # I have because, well the stories above.
I was thinking I would be the 3rd one? And when I put it on, will I really know if the stock belt is to big and I will need the 2" Shorter one?

The Link below is the EXACT set i got. Is the Crank pulley really that big? My 93 was just the 1" pulley without that big thing in the back.

OK I got it to work. You need the 2" Shorter belt. ANd they give you hex head bolts for the crank pulley cause MAN thats tight down there.

Sucks that we had to take the alternator apart to get the pulley off.

When re-connecting the alternator make sure you get a replacement plug. I didn't know this, but when ever you un-plug the alternator, you need to replace that plug. Well, when I put UD pullies on, I didn't replace the plug and a few days later it caused a fire while i was driving. I thought to myself: " I dont have neons under my car, so why is it glowing?" I then popped the hood only to find my sound padding on fire along with my alternator and wires. That was quite the surprise.
