Title: Mustang Shorty Headers?
Post by: Hutch on February 08, 2011, 08:09:15 PM
Any chance that 5.0L Mustang Shorty Headers would fit my '83 5.0L T-Bird?

Or if anybody can explain any mods that I would have to make in order to make them work, that would be appreciated.

They should bolt right on to the engine , you will have to use a mustang H or X pipe though,
Sometimes there has to be slight modification to column shifter linkage , but that entirely depends on each car as each one is unique

I went out o my way to drill out the lower stud on the drivers side header to the h pipe because of the linkage, but it would have been 100x easier to just unbolt the linkage for two minutes while I bolted the h pipe on.

They will work. Just take your time, and if you hit a snag, take a clear pic of the interference and post it here. Someone has overcome whatever you run into. Dont try to rush it.
