Never quite understood the hate for a different car, brand or model. I guess thats why its personal preference. I happen to prefer T Birds, owned a mustang, nice car no complaints and would get another. As he is bashing fox body birds he must not realize the impact that car had on the automobile world from a design point of view. He need look no further than a mustang II for a awful car, just my opinion though. I like cars that are a bit away from the norm so I guess now I will take a walk out to my garage and look at my awful cars.
I kinda want a fox stang...but at the same time the community is very childish. I bought a 67 instead and I still hang out here and over at VMF (http://"http://forums.vintage-mustang.com") where they tend to keep out most of the riff-raff. I usually go after odball cars (ref: 88 Cougar, 92 supercoupe, 84 VW Rabbit), the 67 is the most mainstream I have bought aside from my DD. I really am starting to entertain selling the DD for an old pickup or maybe a Fiero.

my tbird was way more comfy to sit in and drive than my mustang, not that my stang wasnt bad or anything i liked my LX seats. pretty much a bigger, cushier mustang was the reason i got it.

Mustangs are okay, but anyone that's ever ridden in a Bird and Fox Mustang knows that Mustangs are rattle traps. I drove an '04 Cobra. Great sounds, nice power, and the handling .. wow! Let's just say it was inspirational. But the thing rattled like an old POS. And it was put together a lot better than the early Fox Mustangs.
Way back when, I joined stangnet over corral just because of threads like this. I would also have to guess that not many of them are on FEP, neither.

I have loved Thunderbirds since I was 12 and couldn't be happier with my Cougar either.
Besides that I'm 6'3". I don't think I can fit in a mustang.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate mustangs, I think the 1st gens and the SN197's are beautiful cars. But, the fox bodies are just the worst looking Mustangs ever made. Honestly, I don't even know how they carried the name over. They're almost as out of place IMO as the FWD Cougar:giggle:

I like pretty much all Fox bodied cars of that era. I just happen to like the Cougars best. That is just me.

The corral is a joke, I can't stand the morons over there. A lot of the guys over at S197 forums make fun of how ugly and shoddy the fox mustangs were...so even other Mustang fans dislike them to an extent. IMO, all a fox Mustang is good for is for parts opportunities for us T-bird/Cougar guys!

I like the Fox Stangs, but I don't see myself buying one. Thunderbirds and Cougars just have a "classy" look and feel that not many cars can emulate. Well, as classy as a 27 year old car can be.
funny thing is that you can have whatever you want. time and money cures all wounds. i have a super duty V-10 w/Banks ram air intake with a k&n filter, Banks chip, Banks Exhaust. according to what I've learned I should be well over 400hp. the diesle guys still stick thier nose up. My truck can pull New York all the way to Seattle no prob. you can get whatever you want. no limits.
I'd rather stick to my 400hp 2.3L in my luxury car than just another junk 5.0

I've been over there for a few years now. I don't sweat the petty stuff. If they want to make fun, or say what they will about the Birds and Cougars, that,s fine. It appears that Mustangs are bashed by members here. It's just talk.......nothing more. Don't feed into it and show anger,otherwise,the instigator wins. I commented on the thread over there,but not with anything negative. No sense in it.
To me, it's all in good humor, and joking/teasing. I don't lose sleep over it, and if someone really lets another person's opinion over a car get them mad, then...well...I dunno.
I've learned to shut out a lot of things in my life that aren't worth my anger....it's just another crack in the sidewalk to step over and away from, people's negativity concerning cars, etc.
Well I have put my 2 cents in over there. I never have liked the corral. In fact, the only reason I am still a member is for their classified section.

I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Heck,we tease like that at car club to each other. Chevys suck....Fords suck...Mopars suck....who cares? Unfortunately, I don't think its restricted to mustang fans. Almost all forums all types of cars/trucks seem to be like that. We are one of the lucky exceptions imo.
