Alright guys, I know it's not a fox, but a buddy of mine needs some help. He was trying to sell the car, but now he might have to use it. He needs a net catalytic converter because the plastic intake on the car broke a while back and it was dumping coolant into the right bank and I guess it destroyed the catalytic converter so he is getting a check engine light from the o2 sensor.
He told me he was reading somewhere that there are other o2 sensors with a wider band that might stop the code from appearing. Anyone know what this is from? Any of you guys ever do this?
A new y pipe with the cats is like $450 so he's hoping to "temporarily fix" the problem for a little while until he can get the money to do it.
I thought some of you guys might know.
geez just have him take it to a ler shop. They can put 2 new high flow cats on it for about 120-150 and shouldn't charge more than about 100 bucks to do it. $250 and your out the door good as new and a little bit more power too.

Yes, they can weld a new cat into it, but there is no warranty because they would be spliced into the y pipe. so, if it cracks, which it will, he's screwed. I asked him the same thing.
What? I'm taking about the MIL eliminators that fool the computer into thinking the car has cats. They can be bought as plug and play, or there are ones that you splice into the existing wire harness for the rear O2 sensor(s).
