I mean new. 2011 Ford Focus SE. I got it with 15 miles on it. I now has 34 mils on it. I traded the 95 in on it. Yes I bought it the day before the snowpocalypse of 2011:hick:.

Window tint! lol
Have you thought about a little carport in front of your garage door? one of those portable jobs, you could anchor it down...
Lou , Nice ride I like that color bud. :headbang:
D & P ;)
5L swap :)
I don't think that's covered under the warranty :hick:.
I have but that's the widest part of the driveway. I usually do my maintenance/oil changes/wash the car there.
It's a Hocus Focus! Love that blue. I here there really good cars.
I've been thinking of picking one up that is a year or two old for a while now.
Nooooooooooo!!!!! //shakesfist//
No more 95? You shoulda sold it to me:(
...but I guess you just gotta get some Focus on what you really want lol
what kinda powertrain's in that thing? 4 banger? Prolly still faster than your 95 though:rolleyes:
....whatever....
just wait till I get my 4.2:poke:
I don't think you wanted it. Yes it had 90K but both door bottoms were rotted out, the rockers had bad rot near the rear tires, and (this is why I got rid of it) the timing cover was leaking. Not just leaking but leaking almost the whole overflow bottle in one week. It also needed a new oil pan gasket and motor mounts. I just didn't want to put any more money into a rusty 16 year old 3.8 T-bird. If it had been a SC or 4.6 car I probably would have kept it.
It's a 140hp 2.0 DOHC "Duratech" I4 with an auto. 0-60 is about 8.5 seconds. It's almost as fast as a 4.6 MN-12....
Yeah it is pretty quick for an I4/auto. It will chip the tires from a stop. My 95 wouldn't do that :rollin:
Ah.. I didn't know you were having problems with it. Your other threads just made it look like you had the new car itch.
How much did they give you for the trade in?
They game me $1500 for it. That's more than I would have got selling it on my own. I got the Focus for $500 under invoice:D.
Yeah thats a pretty good TIV. I don't think you coulda beat that.
....unless you bought a KIA. ..."5000 for ANY TRADE!!!"
My girlfriend has a 2004 KIA Rio. It's the biggest POS
ever.
When I clicked on this thread I figured there would be a fox body in your driveway. I think this is a much better choice for a DD in Chicago...congrats on the new ride!
Yea glad to see you finally made a decision! And the right one too. ;) That thing will be good to you and when the salt isn't good to IT, you won't cry over it haha.
With all the snow we just had I was amazed at how easy it is to get around in the Focus. ABS+traction control make it incredibly easy to drive in the snow. Almost too easy...;)
I'm just waiting till the snow plows clear the street so I can get to the car wash. I figure since I'm the original owner I can keep the thing from rusting if I take care of it right :D.
Well it's going to the body shop Monday with less than 350 miles on it. Some jerk scuffed the driver's side rear bumper last night when I was in class. So it's $150 to buff it out and touch up the paint. When I drove that MN-12 no one would ever come close to hitting it.
Lame.
Some people are just d-bags.
How do you like it? I'm considering a new dd. I test drove a 2011 Camaro SS, but 40k is a lot of money. I should probably go more economical, but I dunno. I want something "sporty".
For what it is it's a pretty nice car. I don't consider it very sporty but I bought it to get me from point A to B. It gets good city mileage (window sticker says 24 mpg city and I'm averaging 22.3 mpg, I don't drive like the EPA does ;)), is small but has decent interior room, and is easy to park in the city. It's kinda fun to drive as it handles well and does 0-60 in about 8.5 seconds, which I don't consider bad for a 2.0 I4 and a slush box. If you're considering a Camaro SS then a Focus is not even in the same league. I already have my fun, fast car, so I bought something reliable and good on gas as a DD.
Community college? The major well-known one here is well-attended and lacks ample parking, but that's really beside the point anyway. Many morons in attendance and I hear horror stories about people in the parking lots lol
Community college no. I'm going to a Catholic University to get my masters degree. It has little parking and many morons who want to use it.
Glad you seem to be happy with it. I'm not really sure what I want, but it'd like something that resembles "sporty". I have a fun fast car too, my 1972 Olds. I dunno, makes me think is all.
Have you thought about a V6 Camaro or Mustang? They both have 300+ hp...
DUDE! WHY WHY WHYYYY DID YOU GET A '11?!?!?

Not to mention the ST

Screw the old focus!
I knew about the 2012 Focus but:
1. I kinda needed a car now and
2. I would not have gotten the deal I did on a 2011 Focus on a 2012 ;).
Nice choice for a dd. The Focus' are very nice cars and reliable. Both my daughter and step daughter have one and they both like them very much. Have you seen the sporty one? It comes with black chrome, different wheels, and a spoiler. They're really sharp.
It's at the body shop today. I should get it back tomorrow, looking like new again ;).
Some rare clean pictures of the Focus. I'm averaging 23 mpg city. EPA estimate is 24 city so I'm not doing to bad :D. It just rolled 500 miles yesterday.

I was looking at the focus brochure last night when I was at the dealership. Pretty sweet cars.... I didn't realize. Good job:D
sounds like a pretty nice car. i like the color. my ol' lady needs a new car. she has a tercel. I should look a new focus huh!? How does it ride/drive?
It rides and drives pretty good. It doesn't feel like a compact car (ie it does not feel tiny or bounce on rough pavement).
I have. I sort of trend away from mustangs, only because everyone and their mother has one The v6 scares me, every v6 ever in my famiy, always blows through head gaskets. I don't know what it is about v6's, but they hate head gaskets. The newest one was one of Dodge's famous intrepid v6's. Maybe it's me, but in 4-5 years, I don't want to rip apart the car for a head gasket.
The mustangs are cheaper than the Camaro's and I have to wonder why.
Camaro's are built on a much more expensive platform (ie the same one under a CTS).
So 1,000 miles later (today) a lady rear ends me at a stop light. The rear bumper has a scuff under the license plate and a chunk is missing from the area that surrounds the license plate. Back to the body shop for repairs again. Her insurance is paying for it so it's no cost to me. This car is cursed....
Holy shiznit!
Yeah I know. I keep my cars in really nice shape and people seem to be drawn to hitting them like moths to a flame. You think they'd see a bright blue car. This is why I don't DD the T-bird in nice weather.
So when I bought floor mats for the T-bird from Late Model Restoration I found a "Power By Ford" decal in the box. I decided to slap it on the Focus:hick:.

my fiance has a '08 SES, i love that car, her avg is about 33ish. combo of city/highway. it said tonight when i filled it 456 miles till empty, not bad. if i drive it i get ti go up a few tenths in mileage. she is a lil heavy on acceleration at times.
her has 71k on the clock now. still on original brakes, replaced tires at 47k with Goodyear assurance fuel max. thats about it. had it realigned last Sunday it was a lil out, my buddy Kevin couldn't believe she went 24k miles in about 14months. the rim get bent easily. pot holes kill them. but still come up ok on balancer. till they cant be balanced out i wont touch them. i know a guy that fixes bent wheels.
i love the car. ive even spent money on it. had it tinted 35% and got LED marker/turn signals in front. i love the SYNC system she has. easy to use. and having a ZUNE hooked up for hours of music. we streamed Pandora via bluetooth from my phone on a trip we took in august, that was awesome.
im tempted to sell my 87TC and get a 2011 blue or gray one with the sport package.
very reliable and economical

It's a nice little car. It get about 26 mpg because I do pretty much all city driving in stop and go traffic. It's decently peppy for a 4 cylinder. I like the fact that I can maneuver it pretty easily into tight parking spaces. I don't have Sync in mine but I have satellite radio which is nice. I will say that it's not a replacement for the Thunderbird. I might go a little nuts if it was my only car ;). It fits the bill for a comfy, economical daily driver though.
