I remember at some point seeing cats that were designed to bolt directly to the ends of LT's. I can't find any now. Anyone know of a place I can get some of these?
look on jegs or summit racing.
I must have made this up. I've searched Summit and their massive online catalog and can't find anything. I've searched individual brands websites and can't find anything either. The closest thing is direct fit's that have s but not for LT headers. I don't know. I guess I'll just have to do it the old fashioned way and have the shop weld up some s on em.
I saw them in a jegs catalog while I was on the shiznitter earlier today. If I have to go again before bed, I'll get a part number for you.
^ Well that was pleasant... lol
Cool um thanks, I guess:confused: lol
But hey they do need to be the 2-hole s, and I need 2-1/2" cats too. If you can get that it would be great Thanks.
Do you need cats in Florida for a 23 year old car? In Illinois any 1995 and older car no longer is emissions checked. I've been running the 88 sans cats for years.
Nothing is emissions checked here, so no, technically I don't need them, and I haven't had them for 3 years. But, the fumes that come out of the back of that thing are noxious, and I want to run high flows to try to douse them some.
do you plan on driving it from the trunk? :rollin:
hah hah hah, ok. No.... but the windows will be down. And when it idles, in PARK, and I'm OUT OF THE CAR the fumes are REALLY BAD. Just sayin. I mean, seriously, when I come back from being in, near, or around the car if its been idling for a little bit, I smell like exhaust for the rest of the day. Its pretty bad.
Smart ass:rolleyes::p
dont know a whole lot about the 3.8 but with my 2.3 when it smells like that I can adjust the timing and make it burn better. yours might be a timing issue
If it smells that bad it may be running rich. My 88 doesn't smell bad at all. Don't forget in the pre-cat era people didn't smell like exhaust after driving their cars.
I do think it runs rich. Also, there's the fact that its currently open headers so its worse that normal. Oh and the fact that its burning 8 mo old gas. And that the engine runs about once a month.
Its not as bad with a tailpipe on there, but nevertheless I want them on there.
