Hello I has purchased a Cougar in 1984 in Germany to me and would like to alter the vehicle now with pleasure. By close I have found your forum here and am inspired very much. Unfortunately, in Europe there are very much few Cougar vehicles from your construction years from 1980 to 1990. Nevertheless, it is a very nice car. I have read here something about various rebuildings and am to me only not certainly what I should make.

The engine is presently 302cui with an Automatictransmission. This modifies again converted to 351 W cui engines and an AOD Transmission. In addition I still need the right rear axle and there I would like to know with pleasure about You:

- Which 8.8 axes I can take the also disc braking has and has 5 bolt connections.
- Which is the most sensible Ring and Pinion Set if I behind 10J15 rims on it would like to make.
- Which tyres you drive then thus on your Cougars

Hi Peter, and welcome abaord.
 
For an 8.8 with 5 lug and disc brakes, I'd suggest a '94-'98 Mustang, the V8 cars are the ones with the 8.8, v6 versions are the lesser 7.5. All will have disc brakes and 5 lug however.

I think most people will recommend the 3.55 ratio r&p (ring and pinion) unless you plan to do a lot of racing.

To put a 351w in you'll need the Windsor/Fox swap oil pan and pickup, and probably the swap headers...there's a lot of swap info in the engine swapping thread.

Personally I use Goodyear and BF goodrich tires, but by no means is that a definite requirement.

Hallo und herzlich willkommen.

Understand that american cars are very hard to find in s yards (Auto Recycling hof ) in Germany.
If the motor works good don't change it.  302 and 351 are two different motor's.
Ring and Pinion gear depends on what you want to do with the car and tire size and motor output. ( Alot to think about before )
