I need to change the struts on the cougar soon and while looking at $100 just for stock replacements, I figured it might be worth a few extra bucks to get some performance struts.
I'm not looking for anything to stiff, just somehting to keep the front end from bouncing up and down on every start and stop. I mean, I don't wanna ride like a rock but I don't want a boat either.
I know a lot of you guys have done serious susp. work and just wondered what your thoughts were on a good set of street struts? I really don't wanna spend any more than $150 for a pair.
I have Monroes, they're eight years old and theres no boat feeling at all.
I don't remember which ones I bought for my 83 5.0, but they were the cheapest I could find. They ride very rough. This car with new shocks, struts, and springs rides rougher than anything I have ever driven. I wish I would have put more thought into it back in the day...
Monroes huh? I think those are the $100 stock replacements I was looking at buying from AZ. Thats cool. I'll prolly go ahead and give em a shot then.
I got the strange 10-way adjustable struts. I can't say much about the ride quality yet.. it feels good pushing it in and out of my driveway LOL
Tokico HP series (Blue) That is what I will be using when I upgrade my spindles to 87+ Stang.
Monroe Sensatracs front and rear here. I'm been impressed with them so far.
