Title: CW rotation tensioner pulley
Post by: sarjxxx on January 16, 2011, 11:17:30 PM
I need a tensioner pulley like the ones used on 5.0's and 88 v6's that is made to put tension in a CW direction. All the stock ones I know of push the arm in a CCW direction.

I have been told that tensioners from a SC tbird are what I'm looking for.  There may be others that will work to.

Please let me know if any of you have or can get one of these pulleys.

Thanks:D

Oh super cool:D Btw, you should take a tape with you before you pull it b/c the pulley I need needs to be 2-1/4" from the base where it bolts to the bracket to the face of the arm that the pulley sits on. I can probably handle up to 1/2" variance either way from that.... to be about 1-3/4" - 2-3/4" thick. But any more or less will almost certainly be of no use to me. Thanks buddy.

I'm gonna try something here in a minute then and if it works I won't need it after all. I'll get back to you later tonight whether I need it or not. Thanks.

You can disassemble the tensioner and reverse the spring inside as well.....

That is exactly what I need to do!!!!

I didn't know you could take those things apart! I thought they were one of those things that once you put em together you don't get em apart again...

How do you do it???

I'm not sure how you do it, but if all you need is a smooth pulley, you can get them at any parts store for $10.
