I could swear I posted this a year or so back, but I was wondering if anyone found an aftermarket tachometer similar to the stock one. Not one that displays say 1,500 rpm if that's what the engine is at, but one with the little lights/bars that light up. If this makes sense. I've spend hours searching google, but I don't know what to call it. Just wondering. I'm relocating the clock, and thought it would be a nice addition to the car, if It can be done.
It would be awesome if I could take the tachometer out of a full digital cluster, and connect it to make it functional outside the cluster , but I don't see how that could be possible. :(

Many GM's, like the caviler, astro van and beretta had a digital dash, very similar looking to our full clusters. I wonder if you could mod one to fit?
If the digital dash had just the tach, or that is all that you wanted to include, I'll bet wiring for it really wouldn't be that hard. Maybe just block off the gas guage ect off of it.
I don't know. I know it's removable from the cluster, but to cover up the fuel gauge part and still make the tach work might be tricky.. I'm not electrical engineer, and I would probably ruin a couple of good units in the process.
Hoping someone has an aftermarket one, they either want to sell or know where I can find one.
Or, how would I print a new face for something like this, to adjust the redline down to 5,000.

If you want to grab it from another car, don't forget to check the number of cylinders. It must be the same as in your car. If it doesn't match, it will show wrong values.
