Came across an '84 Fila in the Junkyard today, And it had a few Oddities on it.
Mostly the TC stuff (Front Bumper + AMBER fog lights, Rear End w/ Quad Shocks & Bar)
But what was really odd was this:

Now I know there's been brochure pictures of a tachometer in this above the glove box spot, But one has never actually been seen.
And why 2 Tripminders?
one the less I had to have 'em and panel.
This is what I found underneath:

The second Tripminder is obviously a hack and splice job.
But! It fits into the Dash Perfectly as from the factory, And the cutout in panel is very very nice, Not likely by the same person who wired and doesn't really shows signs of DIY work.
*Shrugs*
do you wanna sell one of the trip minders?
that is a really odd thing, but iirc, the cut out in the dash is already there waiting.
Yea I could let one go, Trying to raise money for something really really quick ($65 short).
As for the dash cutout, I couldnt remember if it was there already or not, And wasnt about to rip my interior apart (Yet, Lol).
But the cutout in the cover panel is almost perfect, And furthers hope that there may be that elusive factory Tach in that position, as seen in the brochure/s.
i am puzzled as to why you would put in two tripminders in one car, so you can read two different things at once?
One for the kids to play with.
Maybe it was initially a clock, and they added the trip computer, then the clock went out on them so they stuffed it with one they had left over.
Interesting deal, it sure looks factory. Better get that panel that housed it.
All of the 83-84 cars I have seen have had the hole in the dash for the second tripminder/clock but I have never seen one actually being used. Very weird!
I did grab the dash panel, I'll throw up some pics of it tomorrow.
