Nice color and good luck with it! :D
Take a good look at that odometer. Your going to hate it when you see it climbing higher and higher.

You should do some minor upgrades to that thing.  I know it's just a daily driver, but hopping it up is very cheap and makes it a little more fun to drive.  Check out neons.org for some cheap mods.  Watch the tranny, though.  I went through 2 of them in my 95 before I sold it.

Very nice! Is the SXT a more loaded trim level? Those rims are rockin'.

Chuck - Yes, I still have the TC in my posession, been working overtime, havne't had time to tear it apart yet but I'll get on it.

Andrew - SXT is just an apperance/convenience package I think.  Same motor and everything, just usually includes aluminum wheels, spoiler (REEN REEEEEN!) and CD, stuff like that.

amooset - Did you have a 5-speed and still had problems with it?  If so, then I'll be extra careful with it and make sure to check and change the fluid when the manual calls for it.  Also, there's 10 years difference there... perhaps they've fixed some stuff and refined it some. (I hope).

Nice car man, glad you got a new ride. Word of advise, respect the 5000 mile(bare minimum) break in before gettin on it or you'll be looking at some bad luck in the future. Im sure you know that already but I am jus lookin out for the ride man :D

Where's the flames? You oughta be shot, drawn, quartered skewered and roasted over an open fire! Oh, you mean my PT Cruiser is just a Neon with a different body? Never mind... :D

Not for a long, long time.  If I'm paying for this car for the next five years, I'm not going to do anything to void the warranty.  Even so, there IS actually a turbo kit available for the y little SOHC engine, believe it or not.

I totally missed the whole 5 speed thing, mine was an auto.  I have heard about problems in those (manuals) as well, but most of those were factory blunders that were covered under warranty.

I believe it.  The Neon is Diamler-Chrysler's answer to the sport compacts coming from other companies and the SRT-4 is quite the capable little machine.  They are much better looking cars than what they were 10 years ago.  My buddy has a 95 Neon in that weird red color.  I hate that car.  It's a pain to work on.  Hopefully, yours is much more maintenence friendly.  Looks much better at the very least.

C'mon, Zach, I know there's some anger held deep inside.  Let it go... lay it on me now so it doesn't come up in future posts. ;)

older neon's liked blowing headgaskets.  I still work at the ghetto zone and I sell headgasket kits for these things every week.

Yeah, even better than the ford 3.8, the HG issue has been resolved with better gaskets, I think.

Perhaps they made em just as cheap as ever.  It's a good looking car though.  I wouldn't mind having one to drive every day.

actually, an issue was that they never retorqued headbolts, aluminum heads need to go through a head cycle and retorque, and they didnt do that with the neons
