I am looking for a pair of windows that has an electric vent and window for an 86 XR7.
electric vent windows are a new one on me...
Electric vent windows weren't an option on our cars. You could probably make something from some other car work though...
what exactly is an electric vent window?
The smoking vent on a window goes down in the door then the window follows.I know the 86 XR7 had them I bought one new that had them.
I honestly have to say, that I have never heard of such a thing..
I had electric vents on a 65 I had and have seen them up thru the 76 Birds but never seen it on our era cars either
Well I guess I will stop looking-I must have had one they made on Monday-
Maybe a local dealer option package?
Not dealer installed.I was at the lot looking for a car and a semi came in with this car.I waited till they pulled it down off the top and I bought it.Had like a mile and a half on the odometer and the electric vents.
Eric, would be the man to ask about this...
Never heard of them.
the only cars that I know of from the 80's that had something like that was the lincoln town cars and the continental.
Never heard of such an animal on a fox Bird or Cat. If you had one you should've kept it, because offhand I'd say it was the only one, or one of very, very few...
The electric vent windows I have seen (on a 1960 Chrysler Imperial) just had a motor to power rotate, they didn't roll down in the door. That's why I said it might be easy to add a pivot motor. To have them roll down would not be an easy add on...
any one have a pic of these animals?
The most frustrating thing I ever did to a vehicle bar none ...88 town car window regulator replacement , even worse than removing the dead rodent from the evaporator core on a 79 Fairmont
Any back on topic I have only seen a handful of vent window fox bodies and none were electric
Here is a video of a power vent motor from a 65/66 thunderbird http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NN3Nnj2vI0
And a 1958 impala power vent window in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am1GOffueLA
My '66 Galaxie had the power rotating vent windows...
Yes I wished I still had that car but the kids came and it had to go.
Was an option on the BIG Fords / Mercurys / Lincolns in the 70's. Vent window glass went down into the door first, then large glass followed. "Power mini-vents" Ford called them. Never saw them on a fox body.
