Title: Need help with my power steering
Post by: Thunder Bantam on January 07, 2011, 03:49:27 PM
Ok so my 88 has a little over 100k miles on it now, and i guess it was bound to happen but my power steering is acting up. This morning it was really cold so let my car warm up before i left the house, come out 1st thing i notice when i turn the wheel is the most horrible moan and groan and you could feel it in the steering wheel to.

I parked my car in my driveway yesterday when i got home, then parked it in the grass that night and i noticed today, there was a puddle of power steering fluid on my driveway so im guessing it all leaked out when i got home yesterday.

What do i need to check i dont know alot about the fox birds im still learning as i go, but what do i need to check for is there anything that goes on on the regular with the steering on these cars ? Any help is appreciated !

Check the high pressure line, and the return line as well, that would be a good place to start.
