Title: T-Bird ads
Post by: 1Bad88tbird on December 29, 2010, 09:02:34 AM
Hey guys, I've been collecting ads both for our cars and also with our cars used as a prop. I've been wanting to scan them and post them for your enjoyment but I haven't had the time. Well I've been on vacation for the Holidays and I finally have some time on my hands. Some are 2 page ads so I'll try to keep them in order.

Eric, if these are something you could use on your site that would be great. If you can't take them from here I can send them to you.

I have quite a few of them. I hope you all enjoy them!!

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like them! If the mods want to make it a stick that'll be really cool! Sorry they're not readable that does suck. I have another one titled Black Tie Optional but I have it in a frame on the wall. I may have more, I'll take a look later.

Very nice!!  I have a collection of ads and photos too.

Not an ad but a factory photos:

I'm not a Photoshop expert but I've taken some 2 page ads like you have and edited them into one. They look so nice as one big ad!

Here's a quick patch of your ad in post #13.  I really like that ad, :D it would make a nice poster without all the text.

I think if just the small words were removed it would still look pretty nice. Leave the ABS braking etc, lol.

the probe GT was a 'performance' car.. for some stupid reason, they have a loyal following like our beloved foxes

my bro in law's got a probe gt. Its a pile of . He apparently blew a head gasket or two and there's oil filling up his spark plugs and smoking like a chimney out the tailpipe. The battery won't stay charged and the sunroof is fake. I could keep going but I won't.:giggle:

I have alot of old ads from the 80's as well. I love that ad with Bill Elliott that came out after he broke the Nascar speed record. Over 212 MPH. I think that record still stands. Of course Nascar restricts power for safety now. Or do they just need a Thunderbird to go that fast?!:burnout:

This ad is pretty cool. But I STILL don't understand why Ford would promote this as such a sporty vehicle when it has an SO.

Because in 87/88 150 HP was on the high side for an American car  :)

x2, in 1988 155 hp was considered decent!  And compared to a 305 Monte Carlo/Grand Prix/Regal, our 5.0 cars were high performance, lol.
