Title: Wheel ID
Post by: dragon574444 on December 20, 2010, 08:32:35 PM
Hey guys, just got some new wheels. My uncle saved them from getting sped, I got them for $40. Does anyone know what they came off of, or what brand they are? They have 190/60 or something strange like that on them now, I'm gonna get some 215/70s on it soon.

They are 14x6, they fit on our cars, and I saw a JWL logo on them, which means they were meant for the JDM market?

Also, one was kinda strange, it looked like it was supposed to be uni-lug? I only got one on the car for now, so I'm not sure if it'll even fit. The other 3 are plain old 4 lug, our "bulge" lug nuts worked fine with them. I'll snap a better picture for you guys tomorrow. They look pretty good in my opinion.

*Edit* No center caps unfortunately, that's partly why I'm asking.

They look just like a set of American Racing rims I had on my 81 Mustang a long time ago. Mine were 15", but they looked just like these. I wish I could remember the series that they were, but it was a long time ago. Do they have a threaded hole between two of the lug holes? That's how mine were. There was a bolt that held the center caps on and the bolt needed a special wrench to turn it. Cheap lock system I guess.

Yeah, yup. They do have a threaded hole like that.

American Racing is my guess then. I checked their website and they don't turn up.

Aha, I think I found them, made by a company called Prime. My friend has a set made by them on his Mustang. http://www.primewheel.com/prime_specs.aspx?wheelid=70&wheelimg=239

There we go, got some more pics. Photobucket's acting slow today...

That looks really goofy with such small tires.

I'm not too sure I'd trust the one that was modified to fit the four lug hub. I've never seen anything like that.

It does look a little dodgy. I'm keeping one of my old wheels in the trunk, just in case.

Better keep a good jack, the car supplied scissor one isn't very useful on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.

I know, I already broke it while I was replacing my calipers at home, threads stripped clean :toilet: I've got a cheap craftsman floor jack in it for now.
