Title: Question for A/C guys
Post by: 88turbo on December 20, 2010, 06:47:57 PM
Since my black TC is going to be pulled apart soon and it has a full charge of 134a I have this crazy idea of using the A/C in the silver TC to pull the freon out of the black car and into the silver car.  Now my theory is that if I hook the low side of my guages to the silver car and the charge line to the black car I should be able to pull the freon from the black car into the silver car with a good vacuum in the silver cars system and the compressor running...  I am looking for answers as to why this will work or why this wont work.

Might work. I'd pull down the system on the car you're going into for a while, first. Let us know how it goes.

I plan on starting with a 25-30inch vacuum in the car to give it a draw when I open the valves.

I can't think of why it wouldn't work. It'd be nice to filter the freon as it comes out, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Please report back, I'm curious!
