So to start this off the bird is in storage for winter, so i drive my grand prix as a work car. Well today on the way home i come out to start the car and it takes longer then it should but cranks. Get down the road battery light comes on i didnt think anything of it cause its small and winter and it will need one soon anyways.
Anyways further down the road i lose the power steering then i kinda panic cause it was hard as hell to steer. Then the car starts to run hot really really hot, so i pull over and as i do this the car starts to cool before i even park. I thought hmm thats weird then i hear a scream from the engine a few loud clunks then the car starts pouring smoke.
So i park at a local gas station turn it off and walk away to cool off myself. Come back open the hood and look, the 1st thing i see is the belt off and its tangled up between the pullys and is chewed up. So i yank it out and 1st thing i do is check the pully's and sure enough the water pump is froze up and threw the belt off. So anyways then it starts to get cold and the snow and sleet show up to make my night awesome haha:punchballs:
Buddy towed the car home for me, soo looks like as much as i hate to do it the bird we be serving daily duty while i figure out if i really want to fix the grand prix or sell it and buy a work truck....soo yea my day was good :hick:
Sell sell sell. Buy a truck. LOL what year Grand Prix?
pontiacs.. lol that really sucks, but at least you get to enjoy the bird a little while longer
it's a 96 grand prix with the 3.8 and yea its been a good car man i almost hate to part with it but i need a truck.
I had a '94 GTP (when they weren't supercharged...of course) with the 3.4 and it was total shiznit. I liked the way it looked though, but that wasn't enough to justify me keeping it after the tranny blew lol. I hope you have better luck with your's, and wash that birdy often!
I think it's the perfect oppertunity to get your truck. And while you have to use you Bird just keep it rinsed off.
oh that wont be a problem lol i used to wash it everyday
hey.. you're in the south.. why does it go in winter storage? lol
i didn't plan on it...but for the last few weeks we been getting snow showers and its sleeting right now and i dont wanna drive it in that mess. People round here don't know how to drive in it, and i just know with my luck my bird would end up bein smashed lol.
that's pretty sad.. i'm in jersey and all i've gotten are a couple flurries.. everyone else is getting hammered lol
i wish it would just snow already and stop spreading this out over a long period of time.
i prefer it not to come at all.. my truck isn't done so i can't even drive in it lol
I'm sure it will be a PITA, but you will get a lot more for your Pontiac if you fix it first.
