Well, I spent some time looking at my car today while taking a break from working on my Mustang a decided the rims on my TC are whats killing the appearance. So at work we have a oven and Eastwood powder coat gun. Colors are endless and cheap but I am thinking something like....Gray (almost factory), I have a shiny-er Silver color, of course black, even could do the face of the rims silver/gray and then do the recessed parts of the rim black (would show less dirt and be easy to keep clean). Tell me what you guys think.
Easy on the 4x4 comments! lol I plan to lower it some.

WTF? Rims look great in the pictures lol
They look like up close (will put close up pictures tomorrow)
Black snow flakes sucks !!! Black wheels on almost anything suck. Black hides all of the wheels detail. If you aren't keeping the natural aluminum look,go with something close,ar maybe just a tiny shade darker. Matching them to the car would be a sandalwood overload.
make them look like they are now
i've never been a fan of the snowflakes, but they look good when painted/powdercoated silver with gunmetal on the sides of the 'spokes' (where they look greyish now)
Yeah I dont much like the snowflakes either, I took my 16" Cobra R's and put on there and they look awkward on there for some reason. Plus I just put new tires on the snowflakes.
So you guys are thinking lighter factory looking color on the face with a darker shade on the recessed parts?
Man, I'm missing me some tan T-bird action :(
That's got my vote, sir!
not sure if I have the actual gunmetal color thats why I said just a darker color. I think that would look the best though.
I might go to the junkyard and see if I can find a wheel to practice on like a 10 hole or something.
Too bad you can't do body color in the recesses, leave the surface bare, and just clear the whole thing.
x2 thats what are done with mine
I agree. I hate hate hate black wheels! I would be careful with the sandlewood color. I think the wrong color combo could look pretty awful.
Have them chromed or polished. Now that would look sweet!
+1
Factory finish on the face of the wheel and paint the recesses gunmetal or black.
I think this is the best option. Probably going to do the recess parts black.
Don't use black. Use a gun metal or another shade of of gray. Black,as I stated earlier, hides all the detail of most any wheel.
Always use a darker shade of the color of the wheels, if not using car matching color.... otherwise it may turn out looking like a circus wagon..

From a distance. this actually looks a lot darker then it really is. Almost charcoal looking. But up close it looks like this, and this picture came out darker then it is in person. It's actually almost a blue-ish gray metallic... .. Don't worry... that rust is gone now. lol

In this case I think black will work since trim is black.
Very nice looking car!!
Where is that on 54? I traveled that road a lot to avoid Rt40 while working down there!:hick:
