I've been waiting for parts to arrive so i can get the Sport taken care of before the real cold sets in for winter. I should have my Mass Air meter and 24# injectors today, along with my other GT40 intake. If so,I'll get busy getting the intake ready (visual mods you know),and once it's ready,I'll swap it all on. I'd like to do it all at once (valve covers, mass air and injectors, intake),and then I can start saving for the seat re-covering. No real news,it just seemed kind of slow,so I thought I'd share my useless news.
I ordered my front suspension parts for the 92 LX and paid the cheapest shipping. I had parts in two days, parts in 5 days and the last part came in 12. I was getting very impatient. But all the parts were in time to do the job. I split it up in to two days. Left side first and then the right side and the part showed up in the nick of time.
Once I have the intake done, and the valve covers painted,I can do everything in less than an hour. It's prepping the upper intake that will take the time. remove some aluminum, smooth it,paint and polish, apply the ??? and then install.
Vinnie , Wait no old X-files videos to watch or Eastwood movies either to kill time with while just sitting around bud. lol
D & P :rollin:
No time. Been super busy.I haven't even logged off, just grab the keys and go !!! i am rebuilding a dog house, buying wood for the project, shipping parts, eating lunch with my sweet chica, and on and on. No movies or TV....although,I have been listening to my new Andy Williams Christmas CD. AWESOME traditional Christmas music. I love that.
BIG stuff when I was a little guy. Great voice for Christmas songs.
So you won't hold Perry Como's Christmas renditions against me :rollin:
Now way, another classic. Bing Crosby, the Bob Hope Christmas Special and all of the little Christmas shows. I'm older than I used to be,but still need to see them every year. I suppose it's a way of keeping some of the old days along with all the new stuff these days. a healthy balance. I don't want to live in the past.....just look at it a little bit.LOL.
We always listened to a Ray Conniff Christmas record my parents have when I was growing up. Now we listen to a Ray Conniff CD that I have.
Elvis's Christmas......I used to drive my mom nuts with that one..lol
IMHO alan jackson does some great christmas songs
I have that. Another great one. he also could sing the gospel songs like nobody else could.
Lots of the old ... ummm classic ... stuff is the best!
I love the classic stuff. Anyone can sing a Christmas song, but only a few can relay that real feeling of Christmas. i love this time of the year. It's not about money and gifts,it goes a lot deeper than that. Most say they hate it this time of year because of....you guessed it...money. If that's the case, you're doing it all wrong.
Back on topic,I got my GT40 intake today, with the cover plate !!! Awesome !!! I'll start the personalization asap. Now,my valve covers should be here Monday, then,I can start swapping everything. Pics after that.
wohoo, that means I get mine.....
So, you're done waiting? Well, Mele Kalikimaka (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecnehcLIVeI), brother!
A Christmas Vacation classic
Jerry,I'll get it to you as soon as I can. I have to get mine "ready" then the install is only a few minutes. Man,I'm ready to rock this. Hopefully this weekend I can make some great progress.
Alright....I now have my GT40 intake, the cover for it (may sell it and pocket some cash, maybe not), my NOS Cobra valve covers came today as well. Once I find the value of the covers, I'll either sell them or paint and install them. If the covers have a big value, I may get some Trick Flow valve covers. Mine that are currently being used are going to Kitz. The GT40 intake will start getting the polishing and painting treatment this weekend, along with possibly having a section of the side fins cut out of it (hey, it's mine and I can do what I want with it).
Now,what are NOS '94/'95 Cobra valve covers worth so I can get my plan finished?.
5 dollars plus shipping ?
Shipping may run about $150-$200.00. We'll see what I find. If I can't find anything out about them,I'll find another set of covers, shelve the NOS covers, and send my current covers to Kitz for his car.....or whatever he sees fit to do with them.
I've got a little thinking to do about these. They are really nice, and I don't know if I want to use them for sure now that I have them. Until they got here,I was ready to paint and install....now, I am unsure. I'm going to Ebay to cruise for covers.
Got any pics? , I would love to see what they look like
Pics tomorrow of the loot.
I'll wait right here
Ok, it's today.... where are they?
Pics coming up in a couple of hours of the intake, and other parts for the Sport. Santa came early for her.
lol, I figured you were working, and wouldn't see that until later
O.K.,I took a couple of pics. late, but better late than never.... The cover that came with the intake will not keep those markings. More than likely it'll be polished. The valve covers, if they don't have any real value, will be painted Ford blue after a proper cleaning and sanding. So,here they are.....................

Those valve covers are SOLID !!!. I was pretty busy today shopping with Gayle,so, I didn't get to start sanding on the intake. Hopefully tomorrow if the weather is decent. I really don't think it'll take too long considering the tubes will be blue. It's the end with the fins that's take a little time to polish. I'll probably polish the for the throttle body spacer as well. Also,I need to cut a little section of fins out for the inlay.
Good looking pieces !
Thanks a lot. Hopefully soon, they'll be GREAT looking pieces.
Of that sir , I have no doubt
Well, what I imagine them to look like and what they end up actually looking like may be two entirely different things.LOL.
Anyone need Mass Air stuff for their car? All you'd need is a few wires and computer terminal ends with a Mass Air plug. I have the big parts. I'm swapping all of my parts out.
I love those tubular intakes, nice score. That intake plate is pretty cool, never seen one like that.
Well, copy the pic then. It's gonna change asap.
Update....I just put the valve covers on Ebay for bidding. I started the bidding at $300.00 since to list them was only 50 cents. I figure this....if they sell for $300 or more, good for me,I get the valve covers I want, send Kitz mine, and have some funds left for the Sport. If they don't sell,I can paint them and use them, and I'm out 50 cents. We'll see what happens in 7 days. I saw some Trick Flow covers and a couple of other styles I really like. BUT,these Cobras are still an option....the option...if they don't sell.
