Title: Need layout for fuse box
Post by: odie12372 on December 07, 2010, 11:08:27 PM
Does anyone know if there is a circuit breaker type fuse in the fuse box that supplies power to the seats on an 87 mercury cougar... mine is a 20th ann. edition and has all bells and whistles for the seats... but, they have quit working... Is it just a normal fuse or one of the metal breaker fuses.

What exactly is not working? The power track functions, the recline, or the heated part?

the passenger side works fine.... the recline and the regular seat functions aren't working. had to run a jumper from passenger side to get the back of the seat back up.... it had reclined all the way and wouldn't come back up.. got any advice ? getting power at the switches. no power at the motors..

On my car the seat had chafed through the wiring near the track  , I had a situation where the seat wouldn't work if I was sitting on it , but when I got out of the car it would work fine

Won't work whether I'm in it or not.. I thought it might be the switches... I swapped them around with the same result...
