Did you all know, that they made windows that open and close bye themselves so you don't have pressure in the car,so it closes so softly.
I know the windows on the new Mustangs go down and up automatically when you open and shut the door, which I found kinda cool.
+1
I think that's cool too. I also think the windows do a much better job of sealing to the rubber gaskets that way as well.
cool, yeah for a few years until the stupid motor inevitably wears out while stuck in the partially down position:toilet:
I seen it on the stang, never seen it before on anything else.
the reason for this is what again,, like when you get out to shut the door?
To keep your wife/girlfriend/sister/mom/mistress from slamming the door shut. Which she does anyway no matter how many times you tell her to the contrary.
"There is technology in this door woman! It's called, not being a 20-year old door!"

VW Eos, Passat CC and Beetle do this as well.
The idea is that the windows don't just close ONTO the weather stripping they close INTO the stripping like a full framed door decreasing wind noise at speed.
I actually have to do that on the vert, or the glass doesn't seal right when the door is closed...I wonder if I can make this automatic when the door opens...
i guess i just dont understand
As mentioned above:
A) It allows air to escape when closing the doors, so they close much easier and quieter.
B) It allows the window to seal into the weatherstripping instead of on top of it.
I wish all my hardtops had that feature.
We had a porsche in the shop a couple months ago that had this feature, which was the reason it was there, it stopped working.
I don't know when Porsches started doing this but my '97 and '99 both do it.
My '02 Thunderbird does it.
