Title: Do these prices sound right ?
Post by: Mr-Mach1 on December 03, 2010, 11:13:17 PM
I came across the following parts and was thinking the prices were good but want some opinions.

2001 Mountaineer 5.0 HO 84K miles $350
1995 Mustang GT 8.8 complete 3.08 rear axle $250 Add $70 for drilled rotors
1995 Mustang GT complete front spindles w/brakes ( new drilled rotors)  $250

Thanks

If the engine is good, great price. The heads bring $300, plus another $100 and up for the intake, $40 or so for the throttle body, and so on. Pull the oil pan and valve covers (valve covers at least) and check it out. That's the engine I have in my Sport right now.

$500.00 for the suspension part.....well,that may be a good price. I'm used to having to work cheap, but that sounds fair if it's all in great shape. I would think you could get the spindles and brakes cheaper from a boneyard though.

I would say the motor is a great price, given it's in good enough shape. Around here, that motor would bring at least 5-600. Hell, I sold my SO 302 for 300 bucks.

That seems fine for the engine, you can verify that here:

I used craigslist, and searchtempest for my rear, and sn95 swap. Just search auto parts for mustang.

Give my friend Ken a call.  He's parting out a 6 Cyl SN-95 Stang right now.  You can at least grab the front spindle assembly.
