hey guys what size rims came on the non turbo thunderbirds??
I need some snow tires and I thought there was a 14 or 15 in rim
also you guys know what sizes I can fit on them
Some were 14's,some were 15's. Depends on what style. Steel wheels, ten holes,turbines........
As far as I know, no 15" wheel was factory available on ANY '87 or '88 Thunderbird. We all know the TC's got the 16" 'flakes....but the Sports had the 14" 8 hole wheels, and lesser models had steel wheels with wire covers. I *think* all the wire hubcap-covered wheels were 14 inchers, but I may be wrong...
Turbines came on the XR7 factory, but not the Birds...
I doubt anything smaller then 14" would fit over the front brakes. 10-holes could be had on them, in a 15".
There was the metric TRX option available on non-turbo cars, but there was not a 15" wheel option from the factory.
All ’83-’86 non TC & XR-7 Thunderbirds and Cougars came with 14” wheels or the optional TRX metric wheels.
The only exception was the 30th Anniversary Thunderbird of 1985 which did have the 15" 10-holes.
All ’87-’88 non TC & XR-7 Thunderbirds and Cougars came with 14” wheels only
’84 XR-7 and ’83-’84 Turbo Coupe came with 14” wheels or the optional TRX wheels.
’85-’86 Turbo Coupe and ’85-’88 XR-7 came with 15” wheels only with no optional sizes.
’87-’88 Turbo Coupe had 16” wheels only.
I have a set of 4 that you are welcome to,but will have to pick them up.
