Title: Out of curiosity....feeler thread..
Post by: vinnietbird on November 30, 2010, 11:29:50 PM
Does anyone have any interest in this upper intake manifold? Explorer upper with Australian "FPV" (Ford Performance Vehicles) badge inlayed in the fins. On the Sport now,but possibly needing a new home.

I can't trade it,would have to sell it. It would come with my hand fabbed intake plate and screws for it.

If I had the money I would be interested, but alas....lol.

Believe me, I understand. The Sport's finds are lower than zero right now.I have got to sell my rockers and other parts to gain some footing for a few things on the "to do" list.

How much would you be asking? Mine's still not bolted down yet. I could turn my car into an "Evolution FPV"

I'm also going to be seeling these valve covers.....

They are chromed aluminum with the stickers I had made for them. They are also a little taller than stock and clear roller rockers easily and the driver side has a nice chrome ratcheting cap with a baffle. Beautiful on the underside,no build up at all.....

I don't have the replacement yet. It'll be here next Monday. The little bracket mold lines have been removed from the fins. . it's not polished on the bottom. I saw no need for that. I'll let you know when the other intake arrives. I'm going to do a quick mod that I have planned (I'll give you a heads up on that later this evening). If you really want it,I'll consider it yours. No funds until it's ready to go.Here's the intake......it's not the one in the pic above...it's this one.........

You can have the upper for....um...let me think.....$575.00.

Yes,that's very high. I either keep it,or get an astoundingly rediculous amount for it.

they are for the air ride control. I also got them, but no ride control....I don't think Vinnie has it either......

Vinnie,  I think you got yourself a deal.... $155 for the cover plate, and you'll toss in the intake for free

Sounds like a deal Jeddy. One sweet hand made cover plate with fasteners, and one free intake. Sounds good to me.

I'll tell Sheila, she just bought me a Christmas present...lol

I had thought about tapping new holes for a standard cover, but I liked the smooth cover more than any other. Nobody else had one that I saw, plus it just blends it altogether very well.

That's so very nice of her to choose that for you. She must always have great ideas.LOL.

I told Gayle I wanted my windows tinted for Christmas, and she informed me we're getting new furniture and a new flat screen TV for Christmas. I tried to reason with hr that those are "family items".....so far, she's not buying that. i think she'll cave and get me something....but not anything for the car. A new tool box is probably what I'll get. My roller is good, but the one I carry everywhere has been BEAT. At the yards,it carries about 40 pounds of tools, acts as a chair, ladder, and anything else.LOL. After 18 years together, she still takes care of me for holidays,b-day,and the rest. I'm doing great.

It needs a buffing. I'll do some polishing before it leaves. You know, sending parts is a common thing for me, and just another week. BUT, sending parts I have really changed,or parts that are the result of my own idea, it's harder to part with them, even if I know I'll never use them again.

Sorry, got a little sentimental there...and I'm not even gay........not that there's anything wrong with that.

Vinnie, can you tell me what brand strut tower brace you have, if you don't mind? I scored one from the yard that looks exactly like yours but not like the ones I've seen in catalog's or online...

It's a Kenny Brown brace. i stripped it,sanded it and painted red for a contrast under the hood. Got it for $25.00 quite some time ago from a Stang guy.

Are they chrome plated?
Title: Out of curiosity....feeler thread..
Post by: vinnietbird on December 02, 2010, 02:23:49 PM
They are painted black from the factory. My chromed aluminum covers are more than likely going to a new home soon.

For now,the plan is to use the GT40 on the Sport with the "mild modding" I want to do.Very simple and effective...at least I think so.
