Post by: maximillion on November 27, 2010, 02:48:02 PM
Unable to get a wrench on top bolt of starter of my 88 T-Bird v8 5.0,  Do I have to go through floor board?

If you use a 3/8 ratchet and a long extension you can get it pretty easily by going in from the front of the K member near the sway bar

 good luck

As above... Ive always gone in from the front with several extensions to get to it.  Only way Ive ever done it.

Yep,from the front of the K-Member. A couple of long extensions and a 1/2 inch socket. easy stuff. Easier than one might think.

Getting a twist ratcheting wrench helps alot. I have always taken the wheel of and then gone through a hole there.

i have done it from underneath with a super stubby 1/2" wrench, but it takes forever and is near impossible to get tight..

THEN i ralized i could go from the front with a long extension and a socket... will never do it another way...
