In the summer I bought a black/grey cloth 1988 Cougar LS 5.0L to use as a donor for my 1988 Turbo Coupe roller. The car is VERY nice. I was driving it for a while, until the starter just went out.
I finished disassembly. See NEW parts available periodically.

interested in some int stuff, any pics of that?
The interior is in very nice shape. I will get some pictures tomorrow. Anything in particular that you are interested in?
Thanks!
I need inner seat belt sleeves, and outer seat trim with power recline? I know its a long shot.
Hey Mike. The seat belt sleeves are all broken up. It is definitely annoying to sit on the seat belt buckle - I understand! The seats are NOT power recline, but can the outer trim be adapted? I have not seen what power recline looks like. Pics of the interior are forthcoming...
How much for the wheels (w/shipping)? I've been looking for a nice set of turbines.
That car looks almost too nice to part out!
Here are some interior shots...

Front and Rear Seats w/ power driver's - SOLD
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Wow I would love to have those seats but I have no way to get them :(
The car is in nice restorable shape, but does have some rust spots around the rear wheel wells, bottom of the doors and trunk lid. Other than that, a solid platform. I just don't need the Cougar AND the Thunderbird AND the Mustang.
50tbrd88, buy the car for $1,200 and you get the wheels. :) The turbines are in great shape with no curb rash. The front wheels have permanent brake dust on them. The rear wheels are in very nice shape. I need to acquire two more space savers before taking the wheels off. I don't know how much shipping would be, but $100 + shipping for the wheels and tires.
PM me when you get the car on spare tires...I am very interested in them. I wouldn't need the tires necessarily so that would make shipping/boxing up easier.
I plan on going with something different in the wheel department on my car over the winter and would use the turbines for a 2nd set of wheels.
It's not much, but I could use the rear window trim clips,as many as can be saved.I would also take the headlights and the plate holder.
Hey Kitz. The headlights are yours and I will attempt to save the rear window trim clips. The front plate holder is already spoken for.
Do you want all the lights, or just the headlights?
Any hints on how to get the rear window trim off and save the clips and trim?
Thanks,
Jon
They make a clip tool, But if you don't care about scratching the car ,just start prying it off,if you look at the clips they just slide up off the pins in the channel. There might be some debris in the way. I only need the headlights. I will take the r\s taillight to, I"ll give you 30 for the pair, just give me the cat out of the l\s don't ship the rest of it. PM me a price and how you would like to be paid, Thanks.
D'oh hate to see it parted out, But ya gotta do what you need to.
I spy a Tripminder and XR7/TC Horn Button+Wheel.
Kitz, PM sent.
Romeo2k, I know, it is sad to see it get parted out, but will cause others foxes to live on. There is a tripminder and XR7/TC steering wheel. I plan to transfer the TripMinder to my TC, but the steering wheel is up for grabs if you are interested.
$1200 or part it out???? I bought mine for $300 and $100. Maybe lower the price a tad and you could sell the whole thing!!!!! SORRY!!!!! opinions are like a-holes-everyone got one!!!
There is a time and place for a car to die. It's like organ donning. You make 5 go and only 1 dyes,
Without donor cars, not many of ours would be here today.
There's also a reason why nobody buys a 300 dollar shiznitbox and wastes money fixing it...unless it's a valuable car. Which these ain't. For what it's worth, I feel like I have some say in this, as I own a 450 dollar Sport that is in boxes and bags, and has been for some time, and is very soon up for sale...they're just too much to fix everything that needs fixed.
That's my opinion, and if I'm an asshole, so be it. I utterly do not care.
Now back to the man's thread.
Could use a pass side speaker grill/cover if retaining clips not broken.
Hey Dave G. I will check on the speaker grille/cover and retaining clips and get back to you tomorrow.
Dave, it looks like the speaker cover clips are broken. I'm sorry I can't help you there.
My Sport was $250.00.......delivered......from a salvage yard. I don't regret it at all. Awesome car,and extremely functional.
wow vinnie you got lucky...my yard wont let you buy cars once they're in there.
hey shredder in the last pick next to the hubs you have just a lone cougar head. How much for it?
Whatever it takes to ship it and it's yours. I don't need it. I believe it came from a grille.
Just let me know.
Thanks!
50tbrd88, I have the car on 4 spare tires. So the turbines are available. PM sent.
Are the trunk torsion bars 47-1/2" OD?
My trunk torsion bars are available and loose. I will measure them tonight and can get them shipped out tomorrow. Thanks!
My trunk torsion bars are 42 1/2" long each, but the whole assembly is about 45" long. See the pictures...

How is the trunk lid and the rear bumper cover? The front I see is in good condition
The trunk lid is OK, but it does have some rust on the bottom seam. Here are a few close ups of the rear...

The bumper cover is in great shape. Shipping to NY might be a problem though. Thanks for you interest.
These are definitely out of an 88 Cougar LS?
Could there possibly be a difference in the trunk lid mounting bracket location between the LS and the XR7?
I am so confused -
Measuring from where the straight bar mounts inside the bracket to where the bent bar mounts on one of the three outside slots is 47-1/2"
these are 42-1/4" - how could there be a 5-1/4" difference?
How about the underside of the trunk under the lock under the lip. That's where my problem is...
Do you have any motor parts? I need the metal coolant pipe where the heater bypass hose connects to.
Cougar1car, I will post some pictures tomorrow (Saturday) of the inner trunk lid. I think mine is better than what you have, but pictures will tell.
20thanniver-ls, I do have engine parts. I'm sure I have the metal coolant pipes from the water pump to the heater core. Is this what you are looking for?
Thanks!

Hey does this car have A/C? If so does it have the stock style clutch with a pulley that has 6 quarter-inch holes in the recessed part of the pulley face, kinda reminds you of a Weld Draglite wheel?
Cougar1car, here are some pics of the trunk...

Overall the trunk is in good shape. The only issue I see is the rear lip rust. There is also 3-4 dings on the surface - like small hail damage.
Let me know what you think.
Zonda C12, I'll get you a pic of the A/C compressor...
Thanks!
ZondaC12, below are a couple pictures of the A/C compressor...

I have NO idea if it works or not as the A/C was disconnected when I bought the car. PM me an offer if this is what you are looking for.
Thanks!
I'm interested in the engine harness if you don't happen to need it that is. I'm looking into getting parts together for a high output and sefi conversion on my newly acquired 85 bird 5.0 aod.
Do you need the injector harness or the computer harness or both? I believe I have both available. PM me with an offer.
Thanks!

Well, this is what I did today...

A great running motor and transmission. To be transplanted into something else.
The carcass is to be hauled off by this coming weekend. So if there is any sheetmetal that you need, let me know ASAP.
Thanks!
Are the side mirrors black? If so how much for them to zip 12118? Also I am still interested in the front and rear bumper cover and the trunk but do not know how shipping will work? I get a pretty good deal with FEDEX thru my job would you be able to box it up so either fedex freight or fedex ground could pick it up? I could set up shipping and get you the labels...
P.S how about the seat covers we spoke about?? did the seats sell?
cougar1car, The seats are pending a sale, a guy is planning to pick those up this coming Saturday. If that falls through, you can have the seat covers.
The mirrors are black. And they work just great. I will save those for you. The front and rear bumper covers are in great shape also. I'm willing to box them up if you can figure out shipping with FEDEX. I will save off the trunk lid too.
PM me an offer.
Thanks!
I realize shipping may be a pain due to the size, but would you be willing to part with the rubber window surrounds for the door glass on both sides? I'm referring to the ones with the metal encased by the rubber.
I'll take the flat metal trim pieces on the trailing edge of the doors behind the windows as well if they are available and you're willing to let them go. Shipping zip would be 11735.
PM me and lemme know ;)
Thanks in advance!
Paul
Hi Paul. I will save off the door window trim and weatherstripping for you. Everything is in nice shape. I might be using the door surround weatherstripping if my TC weatherstripping is shot. Otherwise, I will have them available for you.
Thanks!
interested in two relays, the one from right next to the ecu in the engine harness and the one on the right side strut tower. let me know how much you need for those. thanks
or if you have the whole harness out how much would you need for it?
cougar1car,
Here are some pictures of the front and rear bumper covers, side mirrors and the trunk lid. If you still want all that, I will get it weighed tomorrow. I ran out of time today.

V8Demon, I want to make sure I know exactly what you are asking for...
Flat black pieces on the door to the rear of the windows:

All the weatherstipping from both doors:

What pieces exactly are you interested in?
88turbo, I'd rather keep the relays with the harness. I could do $50 shipped on the engine harness with the relays...
Let me know. Thanks!
I will see what I can do :)
Yea if you can get me a weight and an estimate on the size of the box or boxes so i can get a quote for shipping from fedex..
Thanks
Chris
One more ? The pic of the trunk lid is it just dirty or is the clear coat peeling??
cougar1car, The clear coat is not peeling yet, but it is certainly getting thin in some spots. I will try to get the bumper covers boxed up and weighed today.
88turbo, I don't blame you for trying something else.
The top pic you posted....I'll take all of it.
As for the 2nd and 3rd pics
I need the big piece from both sides on the doors. From top to bottom it's the second piece n both of those pics.
Lemme know how much :D
by engine harness you mean from ECU to injectors right?
88turbo, I was speaking of the harness from the ECU to the salt and pepper shakers next to the intake. The injector harness would be another $20.
Just let me know. Thanks!
thats what I was needing to know. I will get back with you later in the week and let you know. Thanks
ECU harness and SO 5.0 ECU is sold.
Sad day in the life of this cougar, but its parts will help others live on...

Parts will be added to the first post for sale periodically. Check back often!
Thanks,
Jon
Forgot to tell you the parts came the other day (UPS held the box for 4 days at their branch 3 miles from my house for SOME reason :dunno: )
Exactly what I needed and in great condition.
Thanks!
So sorry UPS didn't just leave the parts at your house! I don't remember saying - signature required.
Well, I'm glad you got the parts and that packing job held up. :)
Good luck!
