.....and so far,it sucks....HARD. If they don't get their together, this show is going to be extinct pretty fast. I expected too much apparently.
Yeah, I'm with you Vinnie. Top Gear UK has three distinct personalities (and four if you count The Stig). This show has...um...none.
I agree. These guys have no personality, and they seem to be very monotone. The cars alone cannot save this show. They may run a few shows, but I'm willing to bet the viewing audience gets smaller every commercial break. I'm going back to the Walking Dead series next week.
what's it supposed to be about? i saw a bunch of commercials but they don't tell me squat.. only appealing car i saw on there was the fox 87-88 bird that's half cut off
Speed and performance testing high end cars.....stupid "catch me if you can" with a Cobra chopper chasing a Dodge Viper playing hide and seek. Just ....disappointing .....................just an hour of .
No Turbo Coupe on this episode, but in it's place, they did supply a load of .
I won't be seeing the Turbo Coupe on this show. It's done for me. Bunch of .
There is only one Top Gear, and that's out of the UK with Jeremy, Richard, and James. I doubt I'll watch a minute of the US one.
sounds lame.. probably won't be long until they cut it if you're bored of the already lol

Show made me chuckle a few times, seems long and drawn out at times. Hopefully it gets better.
I wasnt expecting anything near the BBC version, but i dont think it will always suck
the previews bored me, so I'm not going to bother
oh for god's sake.. i've seen this douchebag on speed.. he's an annoying jackass
I like the UK version better. It seems like they tried to explain the show to people who have not seen the UK version.
Maybe is another top gear challenge...
"You just have to train 3 monkeys and make an US version of the show......How hard can it be?"
I like a lot the UK version! love these guys...
I dont care for the UK version, so I didn't even bother watching the new one
I've seen all of the BBC Top Gear, and it took a while for them to get where they're at now. You just gotta give the US one some time. I did notice they didn't do any automotive news, I hope that doesn't last. Overall I thought it was worth watching.
I didn't think the new show was that bad. I used to watch the UK version but those guys always ragged on American cars and it got old. I never could figure out why they had such a chip on their shoulders, what cool cars do the British make? Aston Martin is about all I can think of.
The guys on the US show do have three distinct personalities: 1.) The guy who was driving the Viper is the super pen 15y frat-boy type 2.) heavy set bearded guy is kinda funny, and then there is 3.) Jersey s style loud-mouth italian guy who can't drive. lol.
I'm going to give it a couple of episodes and see how it is. Hopefully it gets better.
They live in Europe so they pander to a European audience that thinks European cars are the best out there just as we in North American think North American cars are the best out there ;)
I think the show sucks like a Hoover. I'm done with it.
Have you watched the UK version?
I liked the U.K. version, even if they lean toward their own cars.It was still interesting. This U.S version blows.
I dont think I will even bother. 9 times out of 10 the US version of anything blows.
worse.. like a hooker with a hoover.. i watched a short clip of it online.. BORING.. and as usual, the bearded douche got on my nerves
I didn't think it was that bad, but I think it will not live up to the hype. The biggest problem I saw, is they were really rushing it. There didn't seem to be much music, and the camera work sucked. The UK one has really good camera work. Almost like they take time to setup shots.
How was the Turbo coupe scene?
They haven't shown that episode yet. They supposedly beat the living bejeezus out of it the same way they did the old Cadillac in the commercial. It's supposed to be a "moonshine" run.
I never even heard of it. I watch the Stig religiously though. They bash on US cars, and justly so, but have you seen the one where they take the Caddy STS, Vette, and Charger to Bonneville. They fell in love with those 3. Oh, and if you never seen it, check out James May and kenny Block on You Tube.
i think most of us know who ken block is by this point lol especially after gymkhana

Not surprised. Kind of figured that seeing in the commercial he gets out of it with a helmet on. Oh well, I guess..
I watched a little of it. Suckfest.
I watched it, I didn't think it was terrible, but it does need some work. The viper and helicopter thing was funny, for about 2 minutes.
Its almost like they tried to copy the BBC version as closely as possible, but without out the humor.
So it was a little boring and the guy with the beard annoys me a little as well, but I have to say its better than most TV.
I think its going to come around and be a decent show. The Italian/Jersey s guy sure can't drive though. Him trying to do a burnout in that 370z was hilarious. Only thing that got burnt was the clutch. lol.
I Tivo'ed the first episode and got around to watching it last night. Going in, I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as good as the UK version but I was hoping it would be better than it turned out. I was very dissapointed when they introduced their test driver as the Stig. I mean come on, do the producers really expect us to believe that he is the same Stig?
Maybe I am expecting too much, but I took a liking to the UK show and it's hosts from the first show I saw and I did not get that feeling at all with this version.
There is something about the UK version that is just hard to pin down, because even my wife and 9 year old son who are not car people at all enjoy watching it with me from time to time.
To be fair, I'll give it at least 5 episodes before I make up my mind to continue.
I really enjoy the dry Brittish wit. I recall Jeremy explaining how some POS old car he's driving will starve for oil in the corners, but that's not a concern because the cooling system is rubbish and the car will overheat before oil starvation becomes a problem...
i think after the quit wasting time with telling every1 what everything is it will get better
I think it's decent so far. And just a heads up...there's gonna be an 87/88 Turbo Coupe on the show tonight.
Yep, they're gonna wreck it, too :(
Rutledge wood has no knowledge of cars and is to retarded to help the show succeed in any way. He has been hated on speed channel for quite some time and will help destroy the good name of top gear if he isn't replaced.
Adam Ferrara is a comedian and not even into cars, he is there for comic relief and he isn't even good at it. I get irritated listening to him quote car facts when I know he has no idea what he is talking about.
Tanner Faust is the final host, not only is this a horrible choice but it is even sillier to think he can be the American Jeremy clarkson! Tanner is such a monotone guy his voice overs get boring, not only that but tanner is such a narcissistic idiot that he ruins the show with his arrogant attitude.
All in all this show needs some real changes, meaning hosts.
I will agree about Rutledge Wood. He is too dumb to function and the fact he drivers some of those cars, that Aston Martin for example, I can't believe the producers trust him driving them. It might be more productive giving a 16 year old with a learners permit the chance, it would probably produce more.
The show probably won't be around long enough to get new hosts.
I guess I'm in the minority here, but I kinda liking how the show is shaping up now that we are a few episodes in.
The only guy that really annoys me is Ferrera because he has little knowledge about cars. I like the other two. Foust can drive, but is pretty biased towards imports.
