So there I am just half an hour ago, cruising through the neighboring town to begin my night raise-hell cruise, got ZZ Top blasting, as well as the heat, and the window down. I push the clutch in and I hear a creak and then BANG!!! As the pedal becomes non-existent, swings to the floor and some tiny piece hits my right foot. I just about burst out in hysterical laughter.
I of course made the 8 minute return home without the clutch. Didn't even blow a red light or a stop si...alright whatever no one saw anything LOL. And as many things as were cobbed on this car, I can't be mad at the guy here.
Firewall adjuster was full of metal shavings, instead of that dumb ol' grease stuff people like to use for I don't know what. Yaaay!!!
I'm surely the only one to find this hilarious. Go on, be jealous of my insanity and simple-mindedness. You know you are. Don't lie. I know you're lying.
Replace the cable....go cruise.
Yes, that's imperative. I was a little bummed that my fun got cut short. But I'd probably be whining about working at 7 this morning after being out that late cruising LOL.
Luckily a clutch cable is an easy task..Once I get the Mustang booster for the Sport I'll install a firewall adjuster. Until then,I still have to adjust under the car.Oh well,it's not often I have to do that.
i had a firewall adjuster with a big booster on my cougar ..
Me too. The brand I have (not sure which) you only have a bit of room for adjustment before you run out of room. I even had to rig up some bolts on the trans end of the cable to get it right...
It's a lot easier with the stang booster, and not much cost.
What happened to the 'Vic? I thought that was your winter car? Are you driving that other Cougar you bought in the winter?
You guys all gave me hell when I thought about buying that 87 XR7 as a daily driver.....
Thats funny, I didnt know manual transmissions had shift kits and 2600 rpm stall torque converters... lol
Nah this is the silver one I picked up over the summer. DIg back in User Rides lol. As far as the Vic goes....my grandfather got lost out on the road due to his failing memory too many times, grandma finally decided no more driving for him (which he gladly accepted, she pushes the poor guy around too much!!!) and signed the title of his '06 exploDer over to me. So I sold the vic to a good friend of mine who happens to also be pretty stupid and has already largely ruined it. The engine anyway. :(
I will drive the silver car sometimes this winter, that's its purpose to be a "beater". It has a totally rust-free body. It will only be out when the roads are dry, no snow or slush or anything. Cant cruise in that, unless I wanna do parking lot donuts LOL. But I have of course oiled the bejesus out of the underside of this cougar and with my trusty hot water and lil' pressure washer I'll keep it clean no problem just as I did with the vic.
