Title: Saleen exhaust setup
Post by: sarjxxx on November 07, 2010, 09:14:35 PM
Does anybody know what the exhaust system (particularly the lers) used on the SN95 SALEEN Mustangs consists of? I LOVE the exhaust tone on those.

I think you'll need to do the V8 mod to get that sound..........;)

Very true, and, modular engines have a different tone than the push rod engines. It's not just the lers. With a V-6,you have to be very careful about ler choice. A V-6 can make that really sad tuner sounds.

Far as I know, most of them were v6's. The way I came to understand it is you either got an XR-7 or an LS with a 5.0 and all V6 cars were LS's.

You could be right though. But as far as I know the nomenclature, the fact that I have the V6 actually makes it LS by default. The reason you could get a 5.0 in an LS was because they were two different trim and handling packages. So you could get the V8 power with the LS looks. I think the same idea went for LX and Sport tbirds

That is at least how I understand things. I could be wrong there.

Borla lers (just like I thought) and a custom x-pipe setup with center exiting tips.

Thanks Corral.

No reason to get emotional.  lol...Corral people would know more about Saleens than most here.

From my experience the Corral has some real smart asses who think that Mustangs are god and T-bird/Cougars are old lady cars.

lol...I'm serious!  Corral has some good info and their classifieds section is worthwhile, but there are some single minded folks over there.

They think all T-birds came out of the factory with chrome wire hubcaps and luggage racks I guess (no offense to mercuryman Dan, lol).
