Yesterday afternoon I was driving through the parking lot and as I was driving I thought I heard what sounded like my rotor dragging on something (you know the sound of metal on metal) as I turned down one of the parking drives I heard a pop followed by a continus grinding. I parked the car and looked under it and the nut had worked itself completly off of the lower ball joint and the ball joint was now almost completly out of the spendal. So I called a coworker went and bought a jack, hammer, and cresent. ended up having to take the strut loose and lower it to be able to move the spendal enough to get it back in. Anyway Im just glad this didn't happen while running down the hw at 80

I have had 3 tie rods break on me, all three times were in parking lots. I have had one ball joint separate on me in my driveway (the wheel folded out and almost took the fender off). I was also thankful it happened there and not on the road.
