Title: Depressurizing the A/C & Fuel Systems
Post by: Scott D on November 04, 2010, 05:39:33 PM
How do I go about it? I need to get the pressure off everything so I can take some parts off.

Fuel is easy, depress the schrader valve on the fuel rail.  The AC, usually you can do all you work without depressurizing it.  If you need to get the compressor out of the way, just unbolt it and lay it off to the side.  Otherwise you should have it evacuated by a shop.

Awesome, that sounds easy enough.

I need to get rid of the A/C, everything, from the compressor to the firewall. I need it gone.

I would bring it to a shop, but I've not got any extra time to. It's not like I need it recharged, or anything.

If the A/C doesn't work there probably isn't any pressure on it anyway, test the same as the fuel pressure...

If you think its dry anyway, open a cap and depress the valve with a screwdriver.
