When I get around to getting the inside of the Tbird back together, I"ll need to touch up a couple of the trim panels that are the aluminum instead of the plastic. Does the SEM dye/paint work ok on that as well so I can get a good color match?
I used the VHT version (same stuff) and so far have no problem with peeling and I sprayed EVERYTHING! Steering wheel is the only thing not cooperating...
Blacked out a whole set of dash bezels to see if I liked it since I have a few sets and those are still ok too.
It's been over a year
Considering how excellent the quality is of SEM (and VHT) paints, I would think you wouldn't have a problem Chuck.
Cool, I've got some chipping on the pieces that go over the doors and at the top of the front and rear windows. They will need to be refinished when the headliner goes back in.
What'd you do for prep on them?
I had a vinyl guy tell me to go over everything with acetone and Gray Scotchbrite pads. That really helped clean off the dirt that gets in all the little crevices in the vinyl.
Some stuff will always need to be touched up due to use, but most of it should hold up pretty well.
I haven't gotten that far to prep them yet. They really won't see much "use" unless I pull the headliner repeatedly. It will all be in the prep though..
