Hey Everyone, i have read just about every post that comes up searching for head liner and headliner and the answer to this question still elludes me. does anyone happen to know the demensions needed for the cloth to redue a headliner?
EDIT: in an 87 cougar....with a 3.8L ;)
Thanks
Eric
I had mine done for less than $40.00. Check around at some upholstery shop. If you pull and re-install the headliner panel, they will usually recover it a lot cheaper than if they have to do it. Other wise, you can buy a kit at most parts stores for around $50.00 and do it yourself.I'd bet it'll be cheaper the way I stated first. After the kit and glue,it's gonna cost a little. The commercially available kits has plenty to do your headliner. Check under "headliner material" on Ebay.It can be had there fairly cheap.
Thanks for the info, I was thinking of getting it done locally, but then found information on embossing the headliner and am thinking that this is the way that I want to go to add a bit of a custom touch. Im thinking I will check out one of those headliner kits.
As usual, thank you for the information.....glad there are helpful people around. I would probably still figure it out BUT it would cost ALOT more. lol
Doing the embossed look is actually pretty easy.Just take your time, and have a helper. once you lay the material down after the adhesive is applied to both areas that will stick together, it's done.I did one for a friend Stang.Looked awesome.I had thought about it for the Sport, but it just didn't fit what I was looking for in the end result. If you need any help, let me know.
Will do, Thank you again
Cheers
Get 2 yards of headliner material at JOAnn Fabrics. Cost= @28
2 cans headliner glue from autozone= @20
I've done 3 and it just takes a bit of time and patience.
and were is joann fabrics?
It's a fabric/ home hobby type store. They may not be in your region, but you should be able to get it at most fabric stores, hell, probably in the fabric section at Wal Mart.
Personally,I'd stick to headliner material, designed for headliners, but, That's just me.
it IS headliner material.
