I just bought a sog machete and I was clearing some brazilian pepper trees and it slipped out of my hand and you can see the rest. I got 14 stiches it was 3.5 in long and a little over 1 in wide, the worst part is I have to miss atleast 2 weeks of sports. Oh and it was very painful when he did the stiches. The cut is the inside of my thigh behind my k.nee
OUCH.. that sucks.. i'm probably cry like a little girl during the stitches lol
I was trying not to, since he did not give me enough shots. I was freaking out when it happened because I was alone, and I was afraid to drive. My wife said he stuck half of his index finger in the cut.
OUCH !!! dang I'm glad you got help and didnt bleed out
i would have gone through the roof lol
it didn't bleed hardly at all must of been all the muscle(a.k.a fat) I maybe lost like 1 or 2 oz of blood, when I change my bandage I will get a picture on the finished product. lol
Wow! that's nasty!!! I bet that's going to leave one hell of a scare! I'm glad you where able to get help. I probably would've passed out.
Well, at least you know it's sharp... (someone had to, ;) )
Glad everything turned out ok!
WTF lol.. Looks like it hurt. 34 years here no stitches or broken bones (knocks on wood)
Wow, that looks horrible! doctors never give enough shots to numb, or if they do they don't give it enough time. I remember when I sliced the top of my knuckle, I got 12 stitches and they stuck the needle between my index and middle finger to numb - that hurt worse than the cut LOL Glad to see you're (somewhat) ok
Yesh, that looks terrible
Same here, but only 18 years ;)
, thats going to leave a mark......seriously, i hope you are ok, i would have passed out from a wound like that.....
I must be getting dumber I only had one broken wrist and 7 stiches till the age of 19 then since than I've had 11 stiches in my ring finger and now this, I hope my count is over, this shiznit is too tramatic.
For some odd-ass reason, I learned a long time ago, when using an axe, corn knife (machete for anyone who doesn't live in missouri lol) or anything long and sharp, that it's a good idea to wear a "grippy" glove on the cutting hand...to keep from losing stuff when it's swung.
Like pine tar that comes off easily lol.
I've never had a knife or axe slip from my hand, and I usually handle them daily.
Looks like a nasty cut, glad to hear it wasn't any worse...I feel for you, that sumbitch is gonna be sore in a day or so...
Only stitches I've ever had none of you will ever have to deal with...
As for broken bones I've broken all of my fingers (most multiple times), a few toes, a couple ribs, my nose twice and my leg. I am a certified klutz! Though I've never had a cast (cuz I don't go to the dr soon enough...)
Good luck on the healing. I'm very bad at limiting my mobility for anything. They told me I couldn't go in the body shop at school on crutches when I broke my leg, I threw em in my car and said what crutches. Since you're worried about missing sports sounds like you're the same way. Try and take it easy as long as possible and here's to a quick recovery!
sounds about like what I did in auto repair class. they wanted me to sit out and I told them no and walked on it anyways. I wasnt going to miss out on working on a 57 belair
Don't blame you. I'm not a Chevy fan but I worked on a resto of a 55 Chevy at a shop in Ohio and it's one of my fav builds so far!
Ouch!
well, thats a really good one you got there. I hope it heals good and you dont get infected.
do what i do,, you probably have a hole at the end of the handle for a reason,, slip you a rope through there and tie it off but...make the loop big enough so you can slip your hand through the rope and grip the handle.
Its a built in safety.
Ive got my hatchets done up the same way.
I use mine (i call it a corn knife) to help me out on the car when i need to have pedals worked in the car.
The see the rope?
sometimes I use the corn knife to help bleed brakes. I pump up the pedal, then put the corn knife in a bind between the steering wheel and the brake pedal which puts it in a really hard bind and bow. I then just loosen the bleeder and the pedal goes all the way to the floor.
anyway,, get you a rope on that handle,, gotta learn from this mistake.
is that mule tape on the handle?
Be glad that it wasn't a few inches higher and to the middle. Sorry for the pain, though. Now you have time to sit and think about future projects.....and have the wife wait on you hand and foot (if you're lucky).
not much help from the wife 7-1/2 months pregnant
Mmmm... Tasty.
I havent had stitches in a while. Not saying I shouldnt have, I just try to avoid the ER. Hate waiting around in a smelly place with a bunch of whining people.
for some reason I have a strange craving for a burger now.... ;)
Not for the Faint for sure!!! U should post graphic nature warning!!!!! LOL!! Get Well!!
another with my inside lol
that is nasty. Glad you are OK. Next time you need one of these...
