Anyone Dealt with this?
I can go grab a Still Dark Black (Raven) Carpet from a T-Bird at the JY right now.
This would save me the trouble of Dying my Gray Carpeting Black. (already had planned)
BUT!
It got wet on the floor just under/behind the seats and greenish white layer of mold has started up...
Should i avoid at all costs, Or is this really not a big deal~Just clean it up real good?
I assume the mold is mostly living in the heavy sound dampening fibers that are glued to the back of the carpet, And i will be removing this for weight reduction anyway.
Thoughts?
Remove insulation and power wash.
That's what I was hoping to hear. :hick:
Just don't want a haunting smell or anything afterward.
Yeah usually if you power wash it it comes out nice. Mix a little bit of bleach with your cleaner to kill the mold and clean the floor pans too you dont want any of that in your car.
is it worth the hassle, it's only like $130 for new carpet
The power wash at the local bay wash is $1.25 :D
oh my bad I read it wrong, I thought he had to pressure wash, then dye. but you can never beat the new carpet smell.lol
True ,that smell is priceless .
:mullet:
It rained last night, And the donor has no windshield or drivers door window... I dunno if it's worth the hassle at this point.
