Title: Auto Floor Shifter Removal
Post by: Romeo2k on October 02, 2010, 06:02:39 AM
Last time I was at the JY, I found an 89ish Mustang w/ Auto Floor Shifter and a Nice Boot.
Problem was, I couldnt get the  handle off.

Is there some trick to it? It should just twist off right?
I twisted like crazy on that, Pounded on it and it still would not budge...

It was one with the OD Button, The T-Style.

Same as ours....Push in the button, use a lot of power, and twist and pull at the same time.

Thanks, Vinnie.

Tried that out today and as soon as I lifted up (while pushing and twisting) I nearly flew backwards with the handle, lol~Thanks Vinnie.

You have not lived until you have thrown yourself pulling a shift handle off... Congrats on your rite of passage... :rollin:

You're welcome. That's what happens to most of us on the first handle pull, after that, you know what to expect.
